Driver Development Programme
There are various driving tuition courses advertised in the motoring press and after much research comparing the various types available, I decided to book the Driver Development Programme held at the Prodrive proving ground in Warwickshire. It cost a smidge over £300 for a full day 2:1 tuition - I am sharing the day with another person I know.
My 'day' is finally nearly here - I go on Tuesday and hopefully they can teach me how to drive my car properly! It's also apparently a BMW day as they advertised a special price for this date in BMW Car magazine. Has anyone had any experience of this course to give me an idea of what to expect? |

Not experienced this particular course, but went there some years back in my RX8 as a complimentary day for RX8 owners. Fantastic tuition on the track, skid pan, adverse camber circuit and other bits and bobs. Also got a whole morning with an ex Police pursuit driver teaching roadcraft on local roads. Taught me a hell of a lot and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guys down there really know their stuff! Hope you have a fantastic time mate.

I did this a few years ago with the Porche Club. Best tuition I've ever had. It's not just "this is the racing line"... they tailor the tuition to you AND your car... so it is twice as much use. It taught me what I was doing wrong with the 911's bouncy front end.
Although, the most fun bit it the zero grip skid areas... could have done that all day long. Have fun PB...
