looking for a stock feeling pedal but way better grabbing and less slipping clutch. and suggestion for an 2009 328i sedan?

Clutch masters makes one. The 335 guys like them but haven't heard too much on the non-turbo side. Clutch masters gets rid of the dual mass flywheel and uses a sprung hub with a non-self-adjusting pressure plate.

UUC also make a similar solution but I found it hard to get info. Spec also make a solution but I've seen MANY bad reviews. Some people love them and some hate them.

Just got some pricing on spec and clutchmasters since I also need a new clutch and flywheel. Seems like clutchmasters is the way to go since ive heard great things about them. $1365 for everything sent to my door (steel flywheel). Spec is 1159 for everything shipped to my door (aluminum flywheel).

What do you guys recommend, Steel or Aluminum flywheel?

That is a very good question. I never was able to find a really good answer. I know the aluminum flywheel is lighter which will make your engine rev up and down faster but will decrease fuel mileage and make it more difficult to drive smooth. The steel one will behave like stock. I would like to know if the aluminum is too soft or just doesn't have a good friction surface.

I think the main difference btw the two is the weight. Since the aluminum is so much lighter i think thats what makes it more performance oriented and less daily drivable.

do they fly wheels go bad on our cars? I never replaced my flywheels on other cars.
and which on will feel like stock but hold better? I cant seem to find the specs on the internet

replacing the clutch without replacing a flywheel is similar to replacing pads without replacing rotors. The clutch (like the brakepads) mate with the flywheel surface. If you dont replace the flywheel it is possible to refinish the surface but the more miles on it the less chance you have of working. Just the clutch can cause premature wearing, vibrations, etc. Always a good idea to do both.

I just bought a clutchmasters clutch and a oem flywheel for my 2007 328xi. clutchmasters doesnt make a flywheel for my car

I'll throw my 2 cents in here. Al flywheels are best used in light cars with low (high numerical) axle ratios. If you are building a track day car, go for the Al. If you have a street car, stick with the OEM flywheel.

its a street car. I only have 80,000 miles but I have to pull the trans down and might just order a clutch. just not sure which one to go with

where is the best place to buy a clutch? Bav auto only show a stock cluch for my car. anda stock flywheel is $1100. wow.

I got my stock dual mass flywheel off of parts geek for $450 and i got my clutchmasters clutch off of them for $730

these fly wheel cost so much. I cant believe a fly wheel cost more or close to as much as the whole clutch kit? Can't you resurface a flywheel like you would a rotor?

Resurfacing a dual mass flywheel is tricky. Most places won't even do it.
