hahaha, nice one.

we're trying for double digits the next time man. Besides like I said on the 1st page, I had some power limiting factors working against me so hopefully we will eliminate 2/3 of them and then Tony will be able to run a test on a regular RWD 328i to see if it gets a few more ponies and doesn't lose them in the drivetrain.

Plus you might have had some additional loss from your melted clutch

i doubt they'd be able to get 20 whp. and i think it'd be interesting to see what the $ / whp is with this v. other mods. If you think about an intake costing 300 for maybe 5 whp this is a no brainer.

also don't be mistaken... these numbers are all at the wheels too not the crank.

potentially we are going from 230/200 at the crank to 245/210

what other mod for a 328 do you know of that adds that kind of power to the wheels? cuz even before/after my intake was put on the car doesn't change the way it drives as much as it did after the tune... and its not even the finished tune either.

call it what you want but once you DRIVE it... you'll notice a huge difference, the car pulls MUCH harder

hmm no offense but it could be all in you mind i mean 6hp isn't all that much when you speaking of bmw hps

I want to think it would add a difference but when you ask people who have a 325 to drive a 328 they don't even notice a difference and thats 15hp... I don't know maybe your right maybe i'll have to drive it to see if I notice a difference

well while you are correct that the difference is only 15hp, have you personally driven both? I noticed a bit more "giddyup" in the 328's which is why I leased one instead of buying a CPO'd 325 in the 1st place. No 15 hp isn't much of a huge difference but its something (and with this tune the numbers are at the wheels not the crank like BMW's numbers are).

However make no mistake, its not the hp that is making the car faster with this tune, its the added torque in the mid range rpms. The torque there is what brings you up to speed a lot quicker than normal. It doesn't feel too much different after 4.5-5k rpms but that gap from 2.5-5ish puts you back in your seat a lot more than normal with this tune (which again... still hasn't been perfected).

Think of it this way. $400 on a new simota or afe or injen or whatever intake you want to add a few hp at the crank or a tune for just about the same price that will add more hp and more importantly more torque (my understanding is that intakes usually lose a little low end torque) in the mid range rpm band where these cars really need it.

yeah, it's pretty noticeable. my 325 is getting serviced so I have a 328 today, and could immediately tell the difference between the two. 6whp is only part of the story. 9 ft lbs of torque at the wheels is going to be felt much more than what the 6whp is telling you.

agreed... remember we are dealing with a NA engine. Plus 200 to begin with, adding 10-15 hp is almost a 10% gain in power. On a 335 that wouldn't be much but on these things its definitely noticeable.

A tiny bit top end but I was also told this cars power drops off at about 6200 rpms so that should be your shift point, so like I said the power just feels like it pulls harder from 2.5k-5k (very noticeable near 4k where it used to kinda lag a bit).

yeah i test drove both of them i didn't feel a instant difference but thats not the point anyway, I guess i'll have to buy this and see the difference...
