Has anyone ever try to buy this battery plug (green circle in pic) from the dealer? I want to buy it to wire my amp, but when I try to buy it at the dealer, they can't seem to find the right one. Just want to see if anyone knows the part number.

Sorry this is a pic I found on this site, I don't actually have that part in my car, but I saw that my battery has the same slot, I'm just looking for the male plug that plugs into it.

The male plug is inside the distribution block, what you need to get is either the 2-prong or the 1-prong female socket connector depending on which one is available in that block (item 14): http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...46&hg=61&fg=30

Single - 61136925176, double - 61136925166 (plastic plug casing only), whichever one you get, you'll need 61136920092 (metal connector)

Wire is NOT included, so 8ga or 4ga is up to you, but the metal connector is kinda small, clamping might not work if you want to put a thicker wire. You might have to solder the wire onto the connector.
They are kinda expensive too, I spend like $18 total for the double. $18 for a connector = "rip off" if you ask me, but got it anyway, just want to do things the clean/right way.

by the way, i have a regular ring terminal on my 4ga power wire to my amp connected to the top of the battery. it's a very ugly install.

Always hot... that's a distribution block.

I discovered yesterday that the outboard double receptacle is missing my fusible links!

Plugged in my power wire, and no power - because the connector pins were grabbing NOTHING.

The above picture (which I had previously missed) explains why. Since the double-receptacles require 2 fuses, with 5 fuses included, there are none for the outboard receptacle!

Went to my local BMW dealer this AM... all the other parts guys have been very helpful, but I got a socially-retarded twit who should be restricted to the service-parts desk. After being treated as if I was a wholesale customer (I guess work pants and work jacket and not shaving on Saturday means I couldn't be a BMW OWNER : ) and being quizzed as to my plans, and being told that anything I did was "crazy", he finally shared with me that the distribution block is only available as a complete part for $68 retail (this agrees with what efunroom pointed out above).

So I have 850 watts at 4 ohms currently running off of two 8-gauge output leads, when I meant to have four 8GA outputs. I am wired to have two 8GA outputs feed a distribution block which converts to 4GA for a DC650, and then the other 2 8GA are feeding another distribution block feeding a DC200 and a DC500.

I have the parts to insert two single receptacles (I bought plenty of each) and that will be my workaround - I don't feel like modifying my fuse strip - but warning:

THE OUTBOARD DOUBLE RECEPTACLE DOESN'T WORK WITHOUT MAJOR CUSTOM MOD!

So if you buy these connectors, you can use either 4 gauge or 8 gauge? They plug right into the block? Do you need to have the ground off the battery before plugging them in?

I don't know if 4 gauge fits but 8 does. Won't hurt to have the Neg. unplugged.

Those connectors are pretty small. You'd be hard pressed to crimp 4 gauge into them. I'm not saying it's impossible with some crafty soldering, but it would definately be a little challenging. I soldered 8 gauge into mine.

As mentioned above, better safe than sorry with the battery ground disconnected.

The electrical connector plugs right into the plastic housing, then the plastic housing plugs right into the battery dist block.

VP Electricity says the outboard double recepticle was not live on his. On mine, both the outboard double and the single recepticle right next to it is shooting blanks. So, check yours before you plug in.

Bringing this back from the dead...

I bought a single plug casing (61136925176) for the single receptacle in the battery distribution block, but it appears that I have no live single receptacles available. I switched it with another single receptacle and got power to my aftermarket amp.

Does anyone know if the doubles are live? Is there a way to make the singles live? I need more information about this & this is the only thread where I saw a decent discussion.

There are 2 double recepticles on the distribution block. The only double set that was live and available on mine was the double on the left.

Take a small mirror and peek into those recepticles on the dist block. You can tell they're live if there's a metal prong sticking out.

I would think you would have to replace the entire fuse bar on the distribution block to make the dead ones live and I have no idea if you can order a replacement fuse bar that has all of the connectors.

My battery has two spare spare receptacles but both are not live.

Per my parts guy there is no replacement fuse bar. you have a p/n?

The whole assembly is like 75 USD, right?
