Doesn't sound logical, does it?
So why do you expect any different with your car. It takes time. And, your 2nd run will not be as strong as your first, most times, because the engine heats up.

Someone had a post on here showing that the stock airbox flows ok up into the high 300 hp range, then you need to go to dual cones or something else to get enough flow to keep up, but for most people with just a procede or JB3, the stock airbox works just fine - you really have to get to downpipes and other mods to really need more air.

True, to get the max benefit you should modify the motor on both the top and bottom. However, you never need a reason to increase airflow and filtration to your motor. More air (and cooler air, at that) is ALWAYS a good thing. Unlike in your girlfriend's head

Do you guys think scoops with the DCI would help lower the temp?
considering now we are forcing more air in the engine bay.

Yup, the scoops definitely do help lower intake temperatures.

I was able to get 400 whp with the stock air box on a dyno.

I felt more of a drop in HP at low RPM so I sold it. I bought the Helene drop in filter with scoops and i'm good to go!

Do you have data logs to support these claims?

Here's a good thread supporting scoops. I am not sure of the validity of those HP numbers but most customers, including myself, feel a definite gain at speed when airflow is a factor. It is hard to dyno the scoops as it's very difficult to mimic wind at 40MPH.

Nick, if someone can log before and after IATs and wastegate duty cycle, then we could get a better idea.
