As the title suggests, the code reading function function is done. So with the new update, you can now read the codes before clearing them

We'd like to post up the firmware update this week. But before we do that, we'd like to beta test the feature in the field for a few days. So if you are interested in testing the new goods, shoot me an email (shiv@vishnutuning.com) and put "Code Reading Beta" in the subject line. I will send an email containg the new firmware file and documentation on Monday night. The procedure is really quite elegent.

Here's how it works right now:

It works just like the original code clearing demo shown here:

Except now, the codes are displayed/logged in the User Software (DME Diagnostic Codes) upon first throttle application ("arming" step). The second throttle application (clearing step) clears the codes.

The codes numbers are listed and cycled through in 1 second increments. If there are 3 codes, for instance, it will cycle through them in 3 seconds. Pretty simple.

So yes, you will need your laptop to read codes (for now, at least). And yes, you will need to refer to a code list (which we have put together) to see the code description. This list will be part of the documention which you can keep on your laptop for reference. And yes, this reads ALL codes. Extended or otherwise.

What's next on the agenda (in no particular order):

1) Data logging canbus data (ign advance, knock status, throttle angle, etc,.)
2) Mapswitching via factory button on steering wheel
3) Boost display in dash
4) Autotuning

That's the one we are looking at. Double-click it to cycle (circulate?) through maps. Kind of goes with the pic on the button. Right within thumb's reach.

THere is another button shaped like a diamond which you can use it for other features you want as a short cut....What about that button on the steering wheel?

That button us for idrive people...Luckily shiv's car isnt equipped (like mine)

I'm sure Meth injection is coming.........my guess not long after the implementation of the steering wheel map switching feature.

The reason Shiv is moving map switching to a steering wheel button is to free up and remove the remote keyfob map switcher occupying the expansion port on the harness. Shiv has already stated that the Meth injection control unit will need to use this port for interfacing and function with the Procede.
