weird pause

whenever i am at a stop, then let off the brake, it seems to 'stick' for a moment and then start going. I tried turning off DSC and DTC blah blah but nothing worked. What is it?

It could be a couple of things. I've driven the autos before and the only time it sticks it when the hillstart assist thinks you're on a hill. Why BMW decided to up this on an automatic is beyond me. But if you've noticed, your car will hold the brakes even on a slight incline for about 3 seconds or until you press the gas pedal. You can test this by pulling the hand brake slightly so that the warning light on the dash turns on but the brake doesn't really engage. This will disable hill start assist. If it doesn't stick, then it's hill start assist giving you the issue. It kinda glitches if the surface is really uneven also. It should not engage if it is level and you should have your car looked at if it does.

Courtesy of RyanDe680:

I had this fixed on my 335i.

Here's the TSB:

I B 24 03 08
Automatic Transmission July 2008
Technical Service

This Service Information bulletin supersedes SI B24 03 08 dated June 2008.

designates changes to this revision

MODEL
E90, E92, E93 (335i) with N54 and 6HP19TU from 12/06 up to 09/07

E60, E61 (535i) with N54 and 6HP19TU from 03/07 up to 03/08

SITUATION
The customer may complain of a delayed engagement and a harsh jolt when accelerating from a stop.

The situation occurs only during the engine warm-up phase (cold engine), and can not be reproduced in the Sport Mode.

EGS software (unfavorable NIC Neutral Idle Control calibration)
