Need recommendation for bucket with grit guard.
Hi,
I'm looking to buy 2 buckets with grit guard and was doing some research online. I came across two websites selling this product: 1. http://www.gritguard.com/ 2. http://www.autogeek.net/5gagrguwabu.html -- I would need to buy 2 of these Is there any other company selling this product at a better price? The bucket dolly thing seems to be pretty expensive and it adds quite a lot to the price along with buckets/grit guards... is the dolly-thing really worth the price? I think buying 2x of these buckets with grits from autogeek will be a cheaper option without the bucket dolly thing. Please enlighten me. Thanks...

http://www.detailedimage.com/Grit-Gu...d-Insert-P119/ These are going for $10 plus tax ....... go to Lowes and pick up a couple of 5 gallon buckets and you're golden. This same site offers the "pail pal" under the misc. items.

Or if you really want to be "frugal" go to a local bakery or supermarket and ask them if they have any 5 gallon pails they want to get rid of. Then get couple of grit guards from USPlastics for about $8 apiece and you're golden!

Pool shock buckets. I go through about 2 of these a year. Perfect size for grit guard, includes handle and lid. Free.
Stop by a pool maintenance shop, they have lots of these lying around you can have for free. ![]()

Yeah as I mentioned above these didn't work for me either. Returned those and went to Home Depot and bought a different type.

I picked up a couple of grit guards from Detailed Image and bough two 5 gallon buckets at Home Depot. I think the buckets cost $5 each.

And I got a plastic thing with wheels meant to set a plant pot on ... fits the bucket perfectly and makes it easier to move the bucket around.

Griots Garage sells a rectangular one with an extra girt guard on top to hold your cleaning supplies -
overpriced with cheap plastics - the tabs holding the top grit guard snapped off after one light use. it's a great idea, but poor execution.

I bought the premium white 5 gallon bucket with blue gamma seal lid and blue grit guard from USplastics.com. I'm going to buy another bucket and grit guard from them, but not the lid. The lid works great but some of the things that i have in the bucket are too tall to use the lid so they'll go in the new bucket. The grit guard fits perfectly in the premium buckets. Easy to pull out but usally will not fall out when i flip the bucket upside down to drain. I recommend going for the white/blue bmw color combo!
