hi all,
I wanted to know if any of you fellow xenon owners have noticed on rough roads how the beams shake about if you are driving behind a car close enough to view the beams on the cars bumper ahead. I suspect it is because of the precision of the beam and thus any little bump on the road will yield this shaky look on the cars bumper in front of me. I would love to know if any of you ahve this experience and is it normal? cheers saffa_g ![]() |

yes, the cutoff is more defined so you will notice it more. on other cars with non-projector halogen headlights, you couldnt really tell where the beam cuts off so it wasnt an issue.

Can't really say I've noticed.....Maybe you're a little OCD?
![]() No, but seriously. Nothing's really caught my attention to make me worried. Take it in to the dealer and have your lights inspected. Good news is, you're under warranty (I hope). |

Theres actually a service bulletin out. If you bring it in under warranty they should put some extra support on the lights to stiffen it up. They still shake, but not as bad.

Haha you're going to have to search. I honestly dont remember what thread its in. I just remember reading it a few weeks ago. Or just call your dealer, they shouldnt give you a problem.
These things shake like crazy. It was the first thing I noticed when driving the car at night. |

Its not normal for them to shake. They should float up and down over crests in the road and things like that, but not shake/vibrate. I took mine into the dealer and they installed brackets to get rid of the problem per this SIB. This should take care of you.

I thought the "floating up and down" was what you meant by "shaking" because mine float up and down when going over bumps and stuff.

Yeah, it's normal for them to "shake" on rough roads. It's the leveling mechanism trying to keep things in check so that the lights don't blind oncoming drivers. If they're shaking on smooth roads, there is a problem. I think a poster here got it right. I'd call it more floating then shaking.

Thanks HotIce, good point, but i have doubled checked now on the way home from gym, it is definitely a shake more than a float.... but lets see what the dealer says tomorrow!
