Question Aluminum Trim

Hi - I just got a delivery from BMW on my Aluminum trim but when i open to inspect it, it looked and feel like plastic painted in silver. Can you someone please let me know if this is the case? Thanks

no way....mine is plastic on the inside but you can clearly see a plate of metal (almn) on the surface

you sure you got "Brushed Aluminum"?

I know that the Glacier one is plastic, the one from Msport package

so what happen to CF wrapping your trims? you could of save the money

really?? there's no feel of metal and it feels plastic all around. also, the back say's titan on it. below is a pic. i need to see someone's aluminum trim.

i wanted to try the aluminum first and then get my wood ones wrapped. i'm going to do both.

That doesn't look like Glacier. The Glacier has a fish-scale texture:

The brushed aluminum looks like this, note the horizontal "brushed" lines:

Thanks for the pics! Yea, it looks like i got the Titan line which is plastic painted silver. Mine is flat and smoothed with no brushed lines. Another forum member helped confirmed it.

Hmm, interesting. Wonder how that would look in the car though, I've heard the brushed aluminum dents and scratches easily. Hopefully you can get it sorted out from the place you bought it from though.

Yep, it came from the dealership and according to another forum member there's 3 kind of silver trim, brushed, glacier, and mine titan. it kind of reminds me of the fake stainless steel refrigerators. it was the same amount as the brush.

it doesn't look bad but i don't want to be paying $$$ for a flat silver trim. yes the brushed aluminum gets dents easily around the doors because of the seat belt release, but i like the look of the metal.
