E93 Rear Center Console Storage Tray needs refurbishing

Hello,
Anyone know the best option to restore the center console storage tray. Any good DIY's out there. I looked on ebay for a new one but dont see any also if I get a used one wont it be the same old crappy paint on there that is easily scratched?

Anyone provide the best option? Block sand and rubber paint?? Inquiring minds want to know.

Real OEM the part is $178 would rather look for a cheaper option.
Thanks in advance.

This is a 2007 E93

I got tired of looking at all the scratches. I'd say it came out OK just wondering if anyone has painted it what type of paint did you use?

Steps:
1) took off the back cover 4 torx bit screws.
2) used 250 wet sand paper and dove dishwashing soap to remove all of the sticky paint. Lathered the soap all over and start sanding. Make sure to keep the paper and surface wet. The goo comes right off. Took about an hour to get rid of all of it.
3) went back over it with 1000 wet sand.
4) used a little plastic bumper restore and buffed it out.

I'm thinking of just leaving it as is. or paint it if anyone chimes in with the right paint or going back over it with 400, 800, 1000 , 1500 to get all of the scratches out.

Let me know what you guys think. Not sure if the pictures do it justice but it looks a lot better now than it did before. Your looking at it super close up.

Bare in mind, If your two to three feet away you can barely notice the scratches so it's not as bad as it looks as the image is really close up.
