2006 325i auto trans pictures

i got 43k miles on my 06 325i zsp with auto trans. planning to change auto trans oil at 50K. pictures taken showing oil drain plug (round black plastic with open/close directions) and fill plug (aluminum color) directly located above drain plug. Pictures are from driver's side. Trans housing is black plastic resin with heat sink design to aid cooling. Label warning says "lifetime oil" but specifies "use only BMW oil # 83220142516. Anybody knows where to buy this oil? thanks

Does "lifetime oil" means it doesn't have to be changed?

nothing is lifetime, BMW just doesn't want you to touch it so you have to buy a new trans from them when it breaks.

Send a message via AIM to Blk07335i
From the ZF web site.

"ZF 5 and 6-speed as well as the ZF 4HP20 automatic transmissions are filled maintenance-free with specially developed partially
synthetic ATF oils. Maintenance-free fills are intended for normal operating conditions. Especially driving at very high operating
temperatures can result in accelerated aging or increased wear of ATF oils. In the event of operating conditions, such as:
- highway driving in top speed range,
- offensive, sporty driving style,
- frequent trailer operation,
being above average, oil purification (oil change) on automatic transmissions is recommended between 80,000 km and 120,000 km, or
8 years, depending on the load.
In each case, only released ATF oil may be used for oil changes. And oil changes must be performed in accordance with the relevant
specifications."

I interpret that to mean those of us with autos and tunes fall into the above average use class. Based on ZF's recommendation the trans oil should be changed around 48000 miles.
