your car will get faster as you break it in. I wouldnt drag race with that few miles on it but I would open it up on the freeway.

After 1000 miles your good to go, I only made a few passes because I didnt not want to beat on the car too much....lol It should keep getting faster, and the 1/4 mile IMO should be around 14.8.

Fun. =) What was the temperature like that day, and if you know, the humidity? the lower BOTH of those go, the faster you go...

Also, on a serious note... be sure your local dealers don't know this is you. They could blame lots of potential problems on it, just to try to make money off of you, even if the racing DIDN'T cause it... be careful!

Drive fast, Live dangerously, Be responsible.

What are the times? Scan your slip. I raced my 325i with 2700 miles and it was 90° out that day. 1 pass with traction control...oppps 15.435 @ 90.58 mph . 60' 2.279 , and 1/8" 9.958. I know I can go much faster maybe 14.999, but to get 14.7 like they advertise would have to be perfect conditions and driving.

Do you realize the difference between 15.44 and 14.7 seconds?

At 91 mph, your car is travelling at 133 ft/second.

Check this out:

91 miles/hr * 5280 ft/1 mile * 1hr/60 mins * 1 min/60 secs = 133.46 ft/sec.

Our E90s are 14.85 ft long. The difference between 15.44 and 14.7 secs is about 0.7 secs or 93.52 ft. To put this into perspective, that's conservatively over 6 car lengths, and this is assuming the 14.7 second car is going only 91 mph (in reality it would be going even faster).

I'm certain your driving ability is not that bad.

I'm certain I can go faster, and your calculations are right however we start from zero, so 6 car lengths? I shifted a red line 1,2. Short shift around 5500 or 6500 I would be able to get a much faster time. And I wouldn't say I was lighting quick from 2 to third either, kind or sloppy.
By the way I relize that this is a BMW and not a dragster so even if 15.4 is the best the car can do I say It's fast enough.

I wouldn't be so sure. Your car is carrying 342lbs more weight and taller gearing. The 325 is probably a good match for your car

Thanks, Ksfrogman!

Very interesting. I'll try to hit that later in the year in the fall.
So I would assume have DSC and DTC off and 2500-3 Grand launch?
I have sport package and may help with the take off.

Definitely turn DSC and DTC off. I actually launch at a higher RPM and always shift at around 7000 rpm (avoid rev-limiter) when going in a straight line for times.

Hold the DTC button next to where you unlock the door down for a few seconds and it will disbale everything. Press once and it will just disable DSC.

I kinda hear the wind blowing strong in the video, perhaps head wind or tail wind can be a factor to consider. Just my 2cents.
