Seriously considering having the 335d wrapped

I have a habit of modding cars, spending a small forune on them only to strip them and sell them 12 months later (6 weeks is the shortest time ive owned a car)

Ever since i read a thread on here ive been considering wrapping the 335d, Ive been in touch with Totall Dynamic who have an office in Leeds (about 2 hours from me) whove quoted me 975 plus vat for a full wrap.

Has anyone had any experience with these guys, and do you know of anyone in the North East thats capable of doing such a thing to?

Sorry but this will seem like a stupid question but WHAT IS WRAPPED??

I'm guessing it's quite a new thing? And it's wrapping a car in something to change the colour? Or am I totally off the mark?

If it is what I think it is, what's it made of and what sort of finish do you get?

Speak to Andy (or 'Sticky')... Owner of Shy Tot Graphics. Quite possibly the best car Graphic Artist in the business. His attention to detail is second to none and he's done several big projects including a full wrap on a Nissan 200sx Drift Car for Drift car magazine.

He also has lots of accounts with body shops and has wrapped and done graphics for several Performance car clubs...

http://www.shytot.co.uk/

He did work out of Castleford but has moved to new premises Nr Wakefield, but I suspect would travel if you can't make it down and he could do the wrap in a day at your place...

Tell him Al sent you and ask if I can have his new iPhone..

One of his one off jobs on a Mk 1 Impreza WRX. Notice the door handles..... You don't see that sort of attention to detail often..trust me.

Not graphics 'Fast and Furious' style, just a change of colour. You get a guarantee and apparently protects the paint for several years. I'd love to try it... think I'd go white if I had the right alloys for the job.

Do love the matt black though, you do need a fairly mean looking machine to pull it off but it really does stand out.

That's the one I like... although I wouldve kept the alloys coated (matching the windows).

As I said though, you need those vents and spoilers to break up the lines on matt black, otherwise its too flat. Suits the M3 more because of it.

I vinyl wrapped my digital M3. It has a strange utilitarian, functional look. Not really my cup of tea ... but strangely beguiling.

i have had a matt black ford fiesta before (pls dont start taking the p*ss! yes i was a maxpower head with the bodykits etc i was only 18 though!) and it was so easy to keep clean and definitely turned heads but i would never choose it over a nice shiny metallic black paintwork

Bloke comes down our road in a matt black wrapped 996 turbo every morning, like a stealth bomber!

Dirty cars look better than clean ones, defo. Matt finish is the epitome of that utilitarian look.

I hate mine till its got a good layer of brake dust and film on it. Shine just softens the lines and reduces the panel angle contrasts. All the flame effect is lost when they are too shiny.

Take it from me - wash your car less often. I only do it when I get hand marks in the dirt which spoils the effect.

Detailers - don't call me.
