Pointless and useless feature

Hows this for pointless. Wifes Citroen C Crosser got a bloody lap timer hidden in the depths of the nav system thing, just the thing you need in a 4wd soft roader. ( but Slighly less useless than the graph of average speed and average mpg, the barometer and altimeter).

What other useless feature has your motor got?

Electric windows, electric mirrors, PAS don't need none of them. Other car has an automatic gearbox.

... but number one pointless feature '44 has an MPG o'meter that tells you what petrol it's using as you drive along but no computer to tell you your overall MPG

Wife in passenger seat.

On a serious note, gear change rubbish in display. Pointless unless you are 17 and thick.

LOOOL Nic. i must digress that i think thats a MUST in a car! unless youre stuck in the 60s! let me guess do you have a black and white tv still?

RE pointless feature is the sliding front armrest option. maybe i sit in a strange position but i feel its useless . my elbow is only perched on the end of it when extended and find it uncomfortable to use oh, and the clock hourly BEEP function? WTF?

LOL, actually have a flat screen TV (in colour!!) looks more better than those old ones!

Seriously don't need nothing but steering wheel, 3 pedals, gear selector, couple of seats and a roof for if raining, how do you think people went on when vintage cars where new??

They weren't vintage then. In '65 there were people like you that thought the world of early post war models as the best thing since sliced bread and thought the hand crank on the windows were useless.

Things evolve fortunately. I drove a MK1 Escort. No headrests, crap heater, only one window wound down. I enjoyed my car at the time, but sure as hell wouldn't return to it. I like my air-con, heated seats, PAS and very safe driver aids that make my daily commute into hell a more pleasurable experience. You are not going to convinced anyone on this forum that all you need are the basics!

I drove this bad boy rain or shine almost every day for 3 years... and I wouldn't have traded it for anything. I had one hand crank that worked all 4 windows and sunroof, no A/C, no heat, no radio, nothing... oh but ~400hp wasn't bad lol.

Okay my thread jack is over. Carry on gentlemen!

Vintage is for high days and holidays not as a daily driver

No way could I do what I do in my dream car of a 1973 Carrera RSR (although I would give it a good go!!) All my new useless features of my current car are what makes it a joy to do over 1000 miles per week. I don't really need adaptive, assisted, automatic on/off self leveling xenons but I love them. I don't need tinted glass but love it. I don't need pro nav, bluetooth, ipod integration and google info but again I love it.
