There are some real wankers in this world.

This afternoon I parked my car in a village market place, perfectly fine to park there.

Some one has dented my car and cracked the fibreglass on the rear bumper, not left any note with details or anything.

Only noticed when I went to my mums for tea and saw the dent shining in the sun, what should have been a pleasant day has ended horribly.

Can't go to body shop to get a quote tomorrow because I've playing clarinet at someones wedding, don't even want to do that now at all, so upset and livid at the same time

Carrera, it ain't no write off, as it's not going anywhere near the insurers, my last Guards red 944 was written off when some wanker in a Renault Megan hit it.

Don't care how much it will cost, it'll get fixed.

Yes See my other recent thread for pictures of the car.

Got to find a decent place to take it and have it fixed now, hopefully Wilkinsons in Derby won't be too full with their vintage stuff, if they are Chartwell or Selbys in Nottingham will probably be my 2nd and 3rd choice if no local PH'ers can recommend anyone.

Your original thread generated some polarised opinions, such as "I like old Porsches, but not front engined ones", probably born out of vast experience of driving air-cooled models of a similar vintage.

You and I both know why the 944 was voted the best handling car two years in a row by Car magazine

By todays standards the 2.5 lump could do with a bit more output but the feeling one gets from driving one is better than any diesel rep-box as I'm sure you'd agree.

I'm starting to look now for another S2 or perhaps a turbo.

I missed that, don't recall getting those opinions!

Anyway, having owned an aircooled 911 and absolutely loved it and also own a 944 and absolutely love it, all I can say is they are totally different cars both as special as each other in my opinion (no I don't care if I get "flamed" for that as I'm probably one of very few on here who has actually lived with both.)

I like the 2.5, not actually driven any other 944 admited, it's not fast nor will I ever pretend it will be but I find it a satisfying engine. Straight lines aren't 944s forte anyway

Find myself way over the speed limits for B-Roads anyway where I spend the majority of my time, could drive them all day in the '44, best handling car I've actually owned in my opinion.

Good luck in finding another The S2 is thought to be the best overall package but personally I'd go for an '86 turbo as it's the original, just make sure you get a good one, considered a turbo myself but saw some real dogs over the past year (both turbo and non-turbo)

What I've looked at and for the look I was wanting to achieve (retro styling etc.) the one I bought was the best I have seen in over one year of looking

Will make sure it's back to it's best as soon as the body work man can fit Pixie in

If I did get a turbo I'd get a 89-91 250bhp model but I still think I prefer the S2.

Feel for you...and so soon after you got the car. Doesn't matter what age a car is, people should respect it. My BM was hit by a 4 wheel drive thing only a month into ownership. No details left etc. etc. Cost over a grand to repair and I have protected no claims, but still have to declare it for 5 fecking years on the insurance. TWATS as someone so rightly pointed out.

Thanks all Can't wait to get it to the body shop

Irnbrukid - What are you on about? That is called a rear valance plus flared arches, you know those things cars had in the 80's. There is no damage on my car other than the bit caused by idiots being allowed to drive.

I have not posted any damage near the rear valance, the damage caused was on the rear bumper and wing no where near the rear valance.

So you go into the other thread to try and find something to "discredit" me just who do you think you are? Noticed you really seem to have it in for me before. Would you like it if I had done the same to you? I doubt it.

The back end of my car is absolutely fine (discounting the damage done today). If I can so be bothered tomorrow I will take another picture of the rear of the car (as I do see what you are talking about now). Don't you think that if any damage had been done to my car before either I, one of my family, one of my friends or someone at the Bentley Drivers Club meet (which there were plenty looking round my car) would have noticed it and pointed it out, no takes someone with a computer and a photo to notice "damage" on my car .
