Not true, I had 19 inch x 9.5 inch wide rear e46 M3 wheels and they fit just fine, no rubbing without rolled fenders with a 265 rear tire.

that would be nice i found e92 m3 rims and e46 m3 rims without rubber for around 800

depends on the tire...
i got an ET15 rim in, barely rubbing... i know people that had rubbing issues with the M3 ET 27.

the OP will also need 18-20mm spacers for the front...
