Dealer broke my tmap sensor

I recently purchased a JB+ and when I went to install it I noticed that the "clip" was broken on my tmap sensor. Now before the installation I had not touched anything in the engine bay so that tells me that the dealership broke it and didn't tell me about it. I would bring it up to a SA but I am currently out of warranty and I feel that if I told them they broke it they would first deny it and secondly say it was from me tampering with the sensor. The biggest problem is I currently am having problems with my HPFP and I need to take my car in to have it replaced. I don't know what to do to bring it their attention without incriminating myself. I also don't want them to come back and say I have to foot the bill for a new HPFP b/c they found evidence of a tune. What should I do?

Did you buy the car used?
This is interesting, what is your service history like? Techs don't usually go poking around in areas unless there is a part ther for them to replace..

If your out of warranty then it doesn't matter. I think the HPFP is considered a defective part and the part it self is warrantied for 120k/10yr. Tune or no tune?

Dealership broke mine aswell when they replaced my HPFP! but its staying in since the actually plug has rubber around it which keeps it snug in the sensor.

The dealership has broken a clip on my snorkel that goes to the airbox, and also the clip that holds the black cover on the ecu side. If you don't notice it right there when they give the car back they are gonna blame it on you.

just unplug it and drive it to the dealership with the cel on..... then when they try to blame it on you, say it was just here and you guys were working in that area

The answer to your query is obvious, you take the car in as if you had never noticed the clip broken and see if they will warranty the car's HPFP. If they deny warranty coverage get pissed at them for both braking your car and then denying your warranty. As long as you have not yet installed the tune, you are telling the truth.

Bought it new. Had excellent service history except
hpfp eating it about 40000 miles ago (the first fuel pump to fail in Virginia, took 3 months to fix it. But they paid three car payments) might have happened during that. Honestly I just never looked at the tmap sensor before I got JB+
