Seems like the "best" stuff is always over-hyped and left to your imaginations. Look at ASR turbo upgrades... the "most badass powerful exotic quality turbo upgrade ever" yet we still have 0 results. AMS and the GT35R project that is now on hold because somebody else might have a turbo, that might work, if they get done with making exhaust system #45 and FMIC #37. Now they are pimping out CP-E parts, which is ironic that they are in bed with CP-E now so you can't really trust that.

I think BMW will fix the HPFP problem before we really get a good system for our cars. Maybe it is for the better.

Because they are doing a joint-venture with CP-E now. Like I said above, "in bed with CP-E". Not that there is anything wrong with that, but trying to promote a "competitor's parts" loses it's appeal when they are now a partner of sorts. AMS has a great rep, when they said CP-E is the best DP, I almost bought them. Then I found out about the partnership thing and realized the bias.

sorry

The numbers I heard are very impressive compared to a popular piggyback on the same car/ same dyno. Way more impressive than any flash to date.

You all know how anti-flash I've been.. But I gotta say I am very impressed with how the GIAC flash has come along. Don't worry.. All the info will be posted soon (flash dyno overlayed with the piggy dyno graphs) don't worry, it will be worth the wait.

i dont understand all this hush hush top secret crap....if the product is stronger/smoother/better than anything else out there. Post the result.....unless theres issues with it, which im guessing they're ironing out since the topic is delayed once again.

It's the same old story.. you do a couple pulls using a lower piggyback map, take the worst run, Then spend all day optimizing a flash with cool downs between runs and overlay it on top.

The only "comparison" runs that have ANY value are those done by actual customers who are not vested in either system. Better yet, instead of wasting time on the dyno why not just post up track times? Hard to fake those.

someones cheese fell off their cracker. Actually you're hillariously way off... Actually the piggyback used is using the latest and greatest map. No shenanigans. If you look at my post history you'd know I've been anti-flash for a lonngggg time. This is actually impressive for once. GIAC is no joke

I dont know if GIAC or APR or whoever else is going to be better/worst than a Procede/JB3 piggyback or not.

But honestly, I am DONE with the vaporware, hush hush, garbage going on in our N54 community.

If the flash is going well, post the results so far, ask for feedback, things to improve, etc, and I guarantee you that you WILL get a great final product, and a good community backing.

All this stupid hush hush "wait guys, I can't say because is top secret, but it will be a monster...wait till you see..." non-sense is getting way overboard.

it was nearly 3 weeks ago that AE promised to post dyno charts and stuff "that week"....haahahah

could you imagine what would happen if you promised your boss something "this week" and didn't deliver it still 3 weeks later?

I have heard rumors that Nick@aeperformance blew his turbo after 100 miles and that his car is now at a garage for repair.

I wonder if he will promote the GIAC tune after this start?

The tune may have been a good dyno queen though!

i am very excited to see the results but too have had bad personal experiences with giac. my good friend had a 1.8t gti w/ a giac flash - he toasted the stock turbo - and the first replacement vw installed under warranty - then he turned the chip off in fear of eating another....

i ran apr tune on my 1.8t for 50k miles never had a problem... could just be luck of the draw.

This is not true in any way shape or form. Don't start ridiculous rumors like this.

Guys, all the info will be posted when it gets posted. Complaining and crying about it isn't going to make it come any faster.
