Menzerna questions

Okay I have never machine polished and I am looking at getting the Flex DA Menzerna kit from Detailed Image. It comes with SIP P083 and orange pads and Nano Polish PO106FA and white pads.

Now my cars, 07 Tahoe Black, 06 330i Ti silver, 01 GMCpick up red.

Cars are daily driven but are garged keptt and do not have bad paint, just normal water spots, swirls from hand washings and some bird droppings that are ghosted in the paint.

Does this sound like what I would need? Would you guys add or change anything?

I was looking at Powerfinish with green pad and PO85RD with blue pad or PO87 micro polish.

I am just nervous about not getting what I need or starting with too aggressive of a combo.

I have used the SIP/Orange and PO106FA/White combination. For light work, it should be fine. Not sure if it will be aggressive enough for everything you described, but the combination worked well on my car with the Flex.

If anything, the combo might not be aggressive enough. But I wouldn't get stronger stuff unless you need it.

Be sure to get a nice sealant for the paint. It'll really make the paint look great! I personally use JetSeal 109. But there are other quality products at DI.

And I've had nothing with great experiences ordering from DI. They are a vendor I trust!

After using Powerfinish I don't use SIP anymore. I like Powergloss for really bad swirls or scratches. PO106 Nano is very versatile for light polishing or adding gloss. PO85D is great for adding tons of gloss to paint.

I'm with zaxjax on the PowerGloss if you need something more aggressive. The bird bomb etching comes to mind and if you have any swirls that are a bit deeper than others. You could always try the PG with your white pad and then move up to the orange if they aren't budging. Good luck, looks like a great kit and you can't go wrong with DI!

You CAN select some different pads with all the kits on DI, or at least you used to. When i got mine originally, I got a few of each: orange, yellow, white. I later ended up getting one of the purple wool for really bad things. PG is the go-to on any cars I haven't done before, especially the neices that leave teh cars out all night.
