Question Should I take JB3 off when taking the car for its first service?

I am almost at 15K miles and due for first maintenance service. I have JB3 PnP installed. No other mods. I think the first service includes oil and filter change. Besides that I will mention a rattle coming from the right rear of the car and minor transmission fluid leak.

Although I am handy person I am little bit scared when it comes to electronics. That's why I had to pay someone to install JB3 PnP. I don't want to pay to uninstall and install again but I am worried. My question is can I leave it on after setting map 0? Is there a possibility that stealership can notice it and record it and I may have have warranty issues in the future?

Any advice based on your experiences? Thanks in advance.

You will hear some say it is safe to leave it in for basic service like the 15k service; others say to always remove it in case of a discovery and a notation that your car is modified.

Since you have a couple of other issues that need to be addressed, for sure take it out. I don't see how a leak may be related to a tune, but why take a chance?

100% take it out. It is not worth risking a voided warranty

Why chance it? Its a 20min install or reinstall. You'll spend more time on the crapper than what it takes to remove it.

it's easy to remove. There's no reason why you should leave it in for service.

You dont have to be technically / mechanically savvy to remove the JB3... Just look at the How To video and follow it... Easy enough...

For a service, definitely not! Why is the dealer going to look? You are not making a warranty claim, only a straight forward oil change etc. My 2cents.

DO you have a BT tool? Like many others have mentioned, would answer all your questions. Yes take the tune out... IT's not that difficult... I'm in the other camp (PRO****) but you know what, you have the JB3 PNP, it'll take a few minutes to uninstall, and make sure you clear any codes (hence the need for the BT tool), because if you have any codes in there not related to your issue, your gonna get your warranty voided... (high probability)

Well some people do, but still, who wants to drop 10k if they don't have to...

Thanks for advices. I know it is safer to remove it berfore any service. But I just don't want to take a risk of screwing up something while uninstalling and installing it.

I was just wondering if anyone went for regular scheduled service with JB3 on and got cougth and had warranty issues. Any one???

To Error you only need be a human, to really F things up you need a computer... What does that have to do with a regular service, probably nothing, but even though it's regular service, if they do decide to look at your ECU, and they see the tune, there gonna mark your vin and deny you warranty service later on... YOu can't control what they do, and what they look at while your car is in for service.. If you don't care about your warranty, and want to take the risk, go right ahead... I'm sure if you search you will find others who have had warranty issues because of a tune... BUT it really all depends on you and how cool you are with you SA as well... BUT Better Safe, than Sorry.
