What does this service info light mean? Can't find it in the manual.

Let's see how well I can describe this without a picture.

I got a service information notification light (in position #2, where the low gas indicator appears) for which I can't seem to find the meaning in my owner's manual. It's a circle in the middle of parenthesis that has a wavy line through the middle of it, making the circle look like it is half full of water. I flipped through the manual 3 times trying to see what this is supposed to indicate, and I can't find the symbol for some reason.

It's a yellow light, and it doesn't stay on. I have to toggle through the menu with that little stalk on the left hand side of the steering column, select the service info option, and then I see the water-filled-circle-in-parenthesis thing. I want to guess some sort of fluid is low in the car, but I just don't know what.

This is on a 335i, and I don't have iDrive by the way. Thanks for any info you can offer. I don't want to run up to the dealership for this if I don't have to.

Thanks for the help, but I wonder why this is not the symbol in the manual for low brake fluid? Are you sure we're talking about the same thing?

the ((!)) symbol means there is a problem with the braking system. it should light up in red and needs to be immediately remedied.

the ((~)) is just a service reminder.

Yep, you're right, it's the brake fluid service light. Thanks! Seems I have 8000 miles til it's needed though. Wonder why it's warning me so early?

It's about time, not mileage. The change is due 2 years from the date of production.

Well there you go. My car was produced in August of 07, so that makes sense.
