Volume gone?

My laptop did a update thing with the black screen and loadsa codes when i started it earlier.

Now the volume has gone? even a gap on the task bar where it used to be?

You not a computery widgit geezer then?

try: start menu/control panel/sounds and audio devices

then make sure there's a tick in 'place volume icon in the task bar'

If not, add it and 'apply'

If its there, un tick it, apply, then re tick it and apply again.

Any luck?

The stock answer at work for our main frame system is ...........re-boot.

Often sorts it though lol.

You don't have a physical volume/on/off button do you ?

You can check that your audio device/driver is functioning correctly by looking in the Hardware Manager.
