Thanks for the document Shiv. Looks like I am going to do some logging soon!

On another note, I had a heck of a time getting the new firmware to load. It would get to 100% and then not reset the ECU. The software would just sit there and not do anything. I removed the old software version and made sure the shortcut was to the newest software.

I ended up having to close the software and repeatedly tried to load the firmware without success. Some times it would load to 100% and not complete the reset, other times it would not make it to 100% and said to load it again. After about 6 attempts and no firmware in the procede, I dropped back to the earlier firmware file, and it was able to fully write and reset the ECU on the first attempt. Then I loaded the new firmware just as easily. Not sure why it was so difficult.

This is just the basic tuning guide. Just enough info to get n00bs started

The Advanced guide will go into more detail and involve things like establishing an ideal timing curve and targeting specific timing values. But that comes later...

Cheers,
Shiv
Great thank you!

I'm guessing we can still do this with Rev I and a BT Tool for logging since we'd see where the DME pulls timing (regardless of the procede timing correction) and can adjust from there, but still looking for an "official" answer to my question below in case I'm missing something.

If we need to have the actual values, can we log with both tools and do some math to come up with the CAN adjusted values shown in the insx? Just wondering how hard it would be to line up the data accurately between the logs to do so.

You can still, but would need to use the BT interface.

I'd rather him finish the dash map switching and get the meth kit out then the autotune.

The indash boost gauge is a nice feature, but seriously I'd rather have a digital or mechanical boost gauge and most of us already have that, so I'm sure it isn't the biggest feature on his list. Get the dash map switching done, so we can get more power with the integrated meth

Here's my previous race with 5-29 maps:

This time I pulled harder on him right from the start. However, as soon as I shifted into 5th, he cought me up and overtook me shortly. At the end of the 6th gear he had ~3-4 car lengths on me. I'll post videos after the weekend.

So, it seems like low end is stronger but top end is weaker. I suspect this could be due to new safety feature when boost is reduced when oil temperature reaches 258F. This kind of sucks as it is impossible to keep the temperature below 258F when racing up to such speeds with stock OC.
Here's the vid:

Noticeable improvement in 3-5k transition. Very smooth. looks like 80% ign correction is too much for crappy cali gas. gonna try 90%

So happy to see such stable boost levels and the car is going for a record w number of days away from dealer!

Thanks. No, I'm running stage 2 as I still have secondary cats. And yes, default settings (UT80, ign. corr. 100).

I just don't want this new "overheat feature" who comes with the new maps....
5-29 is a very fast map, and could be even faster with a lowered Ignition Correction.

So my questions are:

Is it possible to adjust the Ignition Correction with the 5-29 maps?
In that case; Which firmware should I use to get it work?

I think a single press button/shortcut for turning datalog on and off would really help. It's hard when I'm the only person in the car with the laptop on the passenger seat.

NOW that's a safety feature for sure!

Is that built into the latest firmware/software?

I believe the function has been there or a while, but very few seems to know that it exist.
It´s one of the reasons why I suggested that Vishnu should do a written manual.

Tom,

That's interesting! My feelings were that the 5-29 maps were much stronger than any map after it, and a few before.

Shiv says nothing is different, I can't explain it, but I feel it to.
