is this worth it?
Hi all
well I just picked up my new ride from the dealer e92 335 Jet black / black with 6 speed transmission with heated seat option. Pretty much strip. I know i didn't get the m sport package shame on me but i am very happy with this vehicles so no regrets! haha Anyway, it was smooth transaction until they offered me tire and wheel insurance for $1070. I was going to buy tire insurance since i live in new york (some areas have 3rd world country type of road). But i was thinking $500 dollar ranges. Price was doubled amount of what i expected. I don't konw if this money is worth it for this insurance. is 1000 dollars reasonable price for tire and wheel insurance? And is it possible to get tire and wheel insurance (if it is cheaper) from other dealers around my area even though i didn't buy car from there? Thank you guys |

to change a run flat tire i believe was 330 and that was just for one not including high speed alignment.

Forget it. Between the limitations and up-front cost it's unlikely to be worth it. These policies exist because they're raw profit.
And there's nothing wrong with a basic E92. You'll love it.

Personally, I'd say it's worth it.
I bent two rims and killed a tire, all within a month of ownership. Damn potholes! One incident, pretty much pays for itself....Look at it this way,(Keep in mind my wheels are 230's and it's a 19' tire....pricing may be different depending on wheels). Rims are $500+ (230's) each, tire's are $350+ each. ...That's ~$900 for 1 bent rim, and 1 tire. If you hit a pothole, odds are you bent/bubbled more than 1 rim/tire. As you can see it can get pretty pricey if you don't have insurance. And btw, I did not get the insurance..... Bad move. |
