2010 3 series pricing released

got a call from my dealer last night.

pricing is out for the MY 2010's

328 frame will NOT include moonroof's anymore. This is now available as a stand alone option (roughly $1000) or with Premium Package ($4100)

Also, 328 sedan/coupe is $750 LESS than 2009 pricing
*18" M Sport wheels available as an option

335i sedan/coupe price is the SAME as 2009 pricing
* 19" M Sport wheels available for an extra $1000 with M Sport Package

Still no word on whether this will be the "facelift".. I do believe the interior will be slightly different with the ac/heated seats button area

more info to come soon.

MORE INFO from WOODNPHILSFR:

Quote:
The 2010 M3 models will be available at centers in October. These cars carry the same high level of equipment as the 2009 models with the only changes noted below:

• HD radio is now standards on all models

• Automatic High Beam will be a stand-alone option

Price Sheets and Order Guides will be posted soon

US Pricing

M3 Coupe $57,850

M3 Sedan $54,850

M3 Convertible $66,500

** No increase in pricing!

MY’10 3 Series Moonroof

The moonroof is no longer standard on the 3 Series. The moonroof is now part of the premium package or available as a stand alone option.

Value Packages (ZVP) are being released for the model year 2010 328i Sedan and Sports Wagon, and 328i xDrive Sedan and Sports Wagon.

Value Package:

iPod and USB Adapter (6FL)

Dakota Leather

17” Wheels w/all-season tires (2KU)

Heated Front Seats (494) (xDrive only)

When selected, the ZVP impacts the ordering of the vehicle in the following ways:

The Value Package and Cold Weather Package (ZCW) cannot be ordered together on xDrive models.

On the xDrive Sedans, Split Fold-Down Rear Seats (465) can only be ordered as a standalone option. They remain standard on the Sports Wagon.

On the Sports Wagon the Ski bag is only available in the ZCW and cannot be ordered with the ZVP.

The following base prices will be in effect September 1st, 2009 for Model Year 2010 3 Series. The $750 base price reduction on selected models is a consequence of moonroof removal from the standard equipment profile. The moonroof will be available in the premium package and as a
standalone option.

Interesting. Although some will see this as "typical BMW price gouging," the overall price is $750 less, so it works out to be not much of an increase. Also, this will be a significant positive for some, given the additional rigidity and weight loss of a closed roof.

For twenty five years I have had cars with moon roofs. I prefer "sunroofs" and not have the glass. They get very hot, and the glass is noisy. In the summer I keep it closed.

In the winter I keep it closed.

It is so rare I use it that I would consider not having it.

I hope they have a Sport seat stand alone option like the 5 series.

The only thing on premium needed are the dimming mirrors. Power seats? Added weight and how often we adjust seats? Lumbar? Same thing! Home link? No garage.

Then there is comfort access, laser guided cruise (have it on the minivan, complete waste unless on two lane road), night vision? and why can't I have iDrive without NAV? Thats how it is on my 530. I like it, just don't need NAV (some people live and work in the car and its great for them!).

BMW makes a lot of money on ammenities and I prefer to "have it my way!".

These are great cars! If I want a driving toy box I'll go get a Infiniti! If I want reliablity I'll get a lexus!!!

Sounds like you want a stripper 3 series. That's not going to happen in the US where a BMW is considered a luxury car. Personally I don't understand a US 3 series without leather, power seats, auto-dimming mirrors, etc. You get these in a $20K Ford Focus these days.

Thanks, Mike.

To those guys who complained that you're getting less for your money. Remember this is a BMW. There are other Japanese brands out there that you can get more bang for your buck. Nobody is stopping you from buying those

In fact, a Genesis gives you a lot more for a lot less cash

did I see heated and cooled seats? Damn that'd be great for the summer months.

Black leather + 100 degrees = nasty back sweat.

You dont get it? What about the engine? Shift box? Suspension? Fit and finish?

Still don't get it? How about the way it handles? The Smooth Motor, the usable torque in the 328i when you row your own?

This is the car I will drive to work. Maybe to my beach place 3 hours away when my teen age kids are not with us.

I might take the other approach and think why the hell would you order up a 33-36k base car and add up 50% of the cost on add on's and power most really don't use except on occasion? This is like getting the most expensive house in the neighborhood. Its not good value. Its like putting granite countertops in the kitchen and saying the house is better built. No, the counter in the kitchen is better, but it does not effect the engineering of the house! Power seats only help if you move your seat around alot. If you need to move it alot, get it. I understand. But It does not make the car better, just the convienence of the seat. It don't effect the transmission?

If I could get sport seats and wheel alone on a e92 (suspension is already sport) then I'd be happy as hell! I don't want performance tires on my daily driver!

Why not? The car drives very very well with the standard 17's. Sure bigger wheels are better, but sometimes very very well does the trick!

If I lease, the sunroof don't matter. MT don't matter. Leather don't matter. Your ass don't know the difference if its leatherette. 3 series leather don't really feel like leather. I'd rather have a sport seat in leatherette than a standard in just leather. My ass knows that difference.

I rented a camry recently and it FOR THE MONEY it drives very well. I can't stand when people put inexpensive cars down. $for $ the amount of engineering and performance in those cars are amazing! No wonder people don't like BMW drivers who think their shit don't stink.

I am with you man as far as taste in cars. But keep in mind you are not the only demographic that BMW has to please to. In fact we are a minority. Humanity is getting dumber by the minute, the "more for your money" approach is what sells these days. BMW is a business that is trying to stay in business.

I love wine as much as the average guy, I can't tell the difference between a 10 dollar bottle or a 110 dollar bottle, sometimes I even wonder if that difference exists. The point I am trying to make is that the average joe can't tell the difference between a good handling car and a great handling car so you have to impress him with other things.

Hey, I get it. The other guy "Couldn't imagine".

BMW, like most corp's are in the profit business and they more cars by promoting image than value. Performance in this country is measured in 0-60 more than any other factor. Given our low taxes on cars and fuel we spend more than in europe. The reasons BMW's came to be popular was they build small light cars that were fun to drive. They still do.

I was Italy last year, in a nice little Cafe that mostly locals ate at. The waiter was being "sorry" that all he had was some local table wine. That stuff was great with our meal!

But, I don't begrudge anyone who loads up the car with the goodies and gets enjoyment from it so long as you don't have to impress me with it to satisfy some lack of self esteem. If someone thinks the BMW holy grail is an alcantara black headliner and has $1000 for it, be my guest. Some will never live again without "Comfort Access", then more power to them. Just don't tell me my car which has the same drive train and suspension sucks in comparison.

BMW wants to sell more cars at higher prices by adding on amenities. They sell and image and status. Thank goodness they still make a nice car!

Cool down dude. The truth is in America (as I said), BMW is a luxury car and the market wants luxury features. I can understand that you may not but you are not the typical BMW 3 series driver in this regard. I'm not trying to give you a hard time just to help understand BMW's marketing philosophy in the US.

Thanks, Mike.

I never said this. you totally are distorting what I said and meant. Please go back and reread my first post. By the way I never dissed your car. I don't begrudge anyone how they order their car. My 328i only has the premium package and heated seats. No CA, no ZSP, no 6FL, nothing else. It has 16" wheels for goodness sake.

Thanks, Mike.

i'm sorry but if im paying 40k for a car I want damn sunroof and I want some real leather. It's stupid for a BMW to not come standard with a sunroof. I dont care about all this "driving experience" crap. I don't drive my car on a track I drive it on an interstate and I'd like for my commute to be as enjoyable as possible, in fact, if the E92 didn't exist i'd take an IS350 over the E90 anyday.
