Best engine mod for 335, besides chip.

What would be the most cost effective power mod for my 335? I will do the Vishnu Proceed v3, but what else would be a good mod.

That depends what you want more power for? street/track driving etc.

For track, adding more power is pretty useless, as there are many weak points to the car which will ultimately dial down power, (oil cooler, intercooler, radiator, lack of LSD) etc.

For street, you really don't need more than the tune

on the N54 it seems like a FMIC is the most important, then downpipes, especially if you're turning the boost up

I'd go with the FMIC as the "most important".

Mixed reviews on DP's but nothing but thumbs up for pretty much every FMIC, and stats to back it up.

All you really need is a tune, catless DPs and a bigger FMIC. You could probably change out the air filter but I don't see the benefit of a DCI.

downpipes + exhaust

Could somebody please write down briefly, the name of the mod, how much power it puts down (around) and how much it costs (roughly) for each mode (besides tune) as a list ? (so everybody can benefit)

Thanks.

Ps: Just to help, I will try to list the most important/popular modes so you can fill in the rest.

Name - Power (whp) - Price ($)

1. Intercooler - -
2. Downpipes - -
3. Exhaust - -
4. Intake - -
5. ?

If it's a power related modifications and you're an 6AT, I would do in the following order:

1) Tune + BT cable + Boost gauge.
2) Dual Cones.
3) FMIC.
4) Catless dp's.
5) Meth injection.

No need to mess with diverter valves unless your an MT or thinking to run very high boost levels (more then 16psi.) The exhaust would be total waste of money, unless your after a particular sound.

I prefer usable power over peak power. With that said, here's my list of mods in order of importance.

1. Coilovers
2. Wider wheels and stickier tires
3. Tune
4. FMIC - to keep things cool
5. Downpipes - another bang for the buck for more HP
5. Swaybars if it still doesn't handle enough for you

If you track, upgrade the stock oil cooler. Good luck.
