Mr. 5 (or like ) intake on a 135i?
I had plans to intall the Mr. 5 like DIY CAI on my 135i, but there appears to be much less room for the filter and the Power Steering res bracket will have to go completly (unlike what is possible on the 335)
See cross post to 135 section here (Post #32): http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=537794 Anyone been able to make this work on the 135i? |

Taking the dog out for some exercise.

The stock power steering bracket needs to be modified to work with the 335 also.
I cut out the box shaped protrusion hanging down, slid the reservoir over one stud, and raised it in its own bracket a bit to allow the 3" hose to pass under. Some people have just taken the bracket out and come up with another mounting method. Here is a DIY link: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=549965 |

Shoot/post a pic of the engine bay. If it's anything like the 535i you will need to make a custom bracket for the PS reservoir or go with 2.5" ducting.

Yea, I had already planned the custom bracket for the PS res. The main issue now is finding enough room for the filter without more customization. Talking with someone that installed a DINAN kit on a 135i, they relocate the horns (above left brake cooling duct) to make room for the filter. This is what I wasn't prepared for.
From the pics on the 335 DIY, there is more room along and in front of the frame rail that does not exist on the 135i. |
