American European Delivery

Has anyone bought a new BMW in the US on the European Delivery Program and then brought it back to Canada once it arrived in the states?

I have been thoroughly researching this and have lots of information, just wondering if anyone has actually done it . . .

thanks

You need to have a US address to do this. They will not do ED for Canadians.

Wait I'm confused. First, ED is available in Canada, there is just no monetary savings. Second, I don't think that's what the OP is asking? He's asking if he could buy the car from a US dealer, do ED, have it shipped back to the US, pick it up then bring it back to Canada. The answer is likely yes, however you would have to pay the appropriate duties/taxes/excise fees at the border, and you will lose your 4 years free maintenance. Whether it's worth it or not depends on the car and what your time is worth.

From what I understand, any car dealer in US can sell you a car, but If you are Canadian and do not have a US address they can't do ED. I read this somewhere on an other forum.

Oh ok, so no American ED as a Canadian; that makes sense.
