I know you're sorted now, but DON'T EVER do the above.

That is one way to kill your car for sure.

The voltage output from mains powered battery chargers is very coarse and unregulated and will easily damage electronics meant to run at 12VDC

These chargers need to be connected to a battery, flat or otherwise, to control the voltage level and smooth the waveform.

104 fitted is a good price IMO.

I was going to use jump leads from another car to keep a constant supply instead of using the charger, but point taken.

BTW it was 104 supply only.

Does anyone know if there is a date stamp somewhere on the battery? I am trying to find out how old my battery is.
