BMW Communication Services Expired??

Hey everybody.. does anyone know if there's some kind of yearly fee to have the communication services such as blue tooth, sos call, etc??

I had my car for about 11 months and yesterday the same time I had my friend put a sub and amp in for me, I get the car back and it say SOS malfunction error?? Scroll to the communications menu, and I can't enable Bluetooth. Its like saying there are no services enabled (at least something in that nature).

I dont know if unplugging a battery would do that, but then again it also seem a bit quincedental that it stopped work the day I got it back... Or did the previous owners services expire or something? If so, anyone have a rough idea of what it costs? What do you all think.? Help!

I believe there is a fee. The MOST bus is probably down or it could be software error. Does the radio work?

Yea it does work.. Everything seems to be fine except the bluetooth for the phone and the SOS option (not that I ever used it but I never got that message before).

The SOS malfunction error will not come on due to expired services, and bluetooth does not have a fee. Your friend most likely screwed something up in the MOST bus. How did he wire everything up?
