FS: Heated, Powered, Non-Sport E90 seats

I'm pretty sure that I have a handle on some sport seats to replace my non-sport ones -- so I'm going to want to get rid of my current non-sport seats (front only).

These are:

Black, Leatherette, Powered, Heated from a 2006 330Xi Sedan (E90).

They might be good for someone looking to add heat without ripping up their seats. Of course you'd still need to add wiring and switches. These are in excellent shape. I'd like to get $300 for the pair -- plus any shipping for non-locals. (I'm in the Boston area).

Any actual deal would need to wait for me to satisfactorily install my new seats.

Any idea what would be required if I have non powered, non heated? I'm assuming the wiring for the heating won't be insanely hard (though not sure). Would the same be true for power? Or would I need to replace rails/other things that would get expensive? If it isn't too bad I'd be interested, though shipping costs might kill it for me.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but have you confirmed if the connection from car to seat is the same on non-sport and sport seat? I may have found a sport seat myself.

For the other question, there is a thread on this site from someone who added powered seats to their car. They found the 30A fuse in the housing, ran a power cable there, added the fuse. The ground cable went straight to the chassis. I've seen plenty of heat controllers on Ebay.

I found that for the bolsters specifically for someone that added sports seats and the bolsters weren't powered, but that doesn't apply to me. Can you link me to the thread with full power seats added? I have non factory heated seats added currently, so I know it's possible to rig a system to have them work, but I don't like the way they work compared to the factory version.

Oh, and I found a thread that shows how to switch from non ZSP to ZSP seats: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=zsp Very simple from the looks of it.

I haven't verified anything yet myself -- but from careful perusing of this board, I see evidence that:

If you had lumbar in the non-zsp seat, that lumbar and side-bolsters should 'just work' in the zsp seat.

If you didn't have lumber in the non-zsp seat (and I don't) then you need to splice power into one small (red/black) wire of the zsp harness. Since power is already coming into the seat, this is a very localized splice. This splice is needed for the lumbar and side-bolsters. Everything else should work immediately.

Thanks for the info! VERY glad to hear it's relatively plug-n-play. Let us know how it goes for you.

Here's the posting on adding powered seats to a non-powered-seats car.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=229396

Good Luck!

That thread is actually for installing manual seats with power bolsters (manual sports seats). If the same method will work for full power seats I'd be interested, but I wouldn't think it would be the same. I would assume a lot more wiring would be required at a minimum, and I'm not sure if they will bolt in properly as the manual to manual conversion did for that OP. Thanks though.

EDIT: Actually, I wanted this mostly for the heating method, but the power is not only a PITA by the looks of it, but I prefer manual seats. OP, I'm out if you end up selling these.

Ready for Sale

OK. I'm definitely selling these for the $300 price as listed in the first post. But I really prefer local buyers (Boston area) as these are heavy and will be a pain to ship. $300 is a bargain for both seats. I imagine just the airbags are worth that much.

Note that I can provide some wiring diagram info if someone is trying to add power and or heat to a car that currently doesn't have it.

Please buy these. If no one does -- I guess I'm going to have to put them move them to my basement and put them on castors. I'll add a 12v power supply to the bottom so that all the adjustments still work. Might be cool -- but I'm not sure they'd go with the decor.

I've fooled around with these seats now to see how they are wired up. To go from non-powered, non heated seats to these powered, heated seats you'd need to run 4 wires:

1 Power (Hook to Red/Brown in seat harness)
1 Ground (Hook to Brown in seat harness)
1 Heat control (Hook to Green in Seat harness -- and to heat switch in dash (or just mount a rocker switch on the seat where the round lumbar switch cut out is -- with the other side of the switch hooked to Red/Brown power))
1 Temp Sensor (Green/Orange in Seat harness -- and to temp switch in dash (or just leave alone and turn off the seat yourself when it gets too hot))

Should be very similar to the manual sport seat install.

Are these still available? I'm looking for a RH seat, non sport, if it will fit in a 2009 wagon.

Where in Boston?

I have two front leatherette non sport seats heated + power that I would sell if I could get a decent deal on them to upgrade to sports.

I suppose I would take them for the 300 price and then start looking for a cheap way to get the heating piece for the dash. I don't want to pay for shipping though, and my guess is still that shipping is easily high enough to kill the deal. Anyway, my shipping zip is 84107, let me know if you are desperate enough to do it.
