New rim prep advice

Ive never taken care of my oem rims, and I have got some new rims on the way. I wana make sure i take the right steps in keeping them clean. they are the vmr 715 silver w/polished lip. after reading a few threads, ive decided on ordering some poorboys sealant but im wondering if that is just for the face, or can i use it on the lip as well? also, should i wax the rim before i apply the sealant? any tips/procedures would be appreciated, thanks

Can't beat poorboy's wheel sealant. You should be okay with using them on the polished lip (I apply it to mine with superb results). Heck, I would even apply them to the inner barrels before mounting the wheels, if you're that OCD.

I'm not familiar with that particular wheel, but it's a LOT easier to put the PBWW on there, front and back, before the tires go on (if you are getting them shipped directly to you) Poor Boys should be used alone. If you were to wax first, the PB wouldn't stick, and it's made to be survive in higher temps since it's for wheels.
