Thanks!

So the 335i sedan will weigh in at 3600 lbs, as I expected.

About 40 lbs more than the 335i coupe.
But about 200 lbs more than the 330i sedan that it replaces!

hmmm, 89 minimum octane, and 5W-30 for the oil. Interesting...

With close to 360 HP who cares about weight?

Why is this car so heavy? My 550 is 3814 lbs with a large V8. The M3 is 3400lbs with a heavy engine with cast iron cylinder liners. It seems to me that 3600 lbs is taking the weight in the wrong direction.

Thanks to cycler2 and Jason for posting this!
Can you get the E91 328 manual for folks waiting on that?

Edit: nevermind, I see that the Canadian version has the E91 included.

Just for laughs....

2007 335i
Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 300
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1635
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 186.43
0 - 60 (Secs) : 5.83
0 - 100 (Secs) : 14.06
60 - 100 (Secs) : 8.23
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 14.13
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 100.26
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 14.03
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 101.38

2006 330i
Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 255
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1549
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 167.27
0 - 60 (Secs) : 6.40
0 - 100 (Secs) : 16.24
60 - 100 (Secs) : 9.85
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 14.74
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 95.27
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 14.64
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 96.34

Even with the extra weight it should be a nice step up from the performance of the current 330i.

BMW has been heading in the wrong direction with weight for a while now. In less than 2 years the E90 class cars have jumped up around 200 pounds. Even with the M3's, each new M has weighed about 200+ pounds more than the previous version. If the 335 it will be based on is already at 3600 lbs., the new M3 is liable to be a 3700 lbs. bloated pig (the M3 has typically weighed more than the coupe it's based on).

One thing i noticed in the manual that is a little confusing is they have both the gas mileage gauge shown, and then right below that the engine oil temp gage.... Which one is the one shown in the e90 sedan? ... or is it an option or something like that. If you look at the photo ... they use the same part of the tachometer.. I know the current (2006) models have the gas mileage shown, but ... yeah... It's just weird that it's in the manual showing either one if it is not there... If I remember correctly the engine temp is shown in the coupe version ... but.. hmm. Anyways, Thanks for the manual!

cars will only get heavier. If they want to make them lighter it would cost more to make and more expensive to fix due to more expensive materials. I will have to agree that the weight kinda ruins the car's agility.

Okay, Acrobat Reader fixed the issue.

Unless I am missing something, this is the first confirmation that the Canadian 323i (and probably world-wide also) does indeed get bumped to 200hp for MY2007. Exciting news for those in the Great White North! I guess I'll post a thread (since I haven't seen anyone else do it).

Weight may be compensated for by raw hp, but only for straight line acceleration purposes.

The moment you slam on the brakes or take a turn fast, you'll know that weight is your enemy, no matter how much hp you have...

Anybody notice the 323i has 200hp? I wonder if it will be possible to upgrade my 174hp version or if it is a similar deal to the 328i (i.e. different pistons, etc)
