Vessel arrival ETA is 9/28/06 (Sirius Leader), but I have to add several days to that before it actually gets to the dealer; so I'm guessing October 6??

Over in New York at moment and not back until late October. I am concerned as i have not received an email. I requested an update email as to expected delivery date but have heard nothing. Ordered car in August and was promised, car to be in first shipment with delivery November.

I ordered mine in May and was told mine is on a ship which arrives on the 15th of October. They told me it takes 10-14 days to pass through customs etc as well as to be prepared by the dealer (they are tinting my windows for "no extra cost"). Then it's all mine.....

had a drive of the 335i coupe with steptronic / paddles then a 325i manual coupe at the "test drive event" here in Brisbane (Brisbane BMW). At least here they send you out on a 10-15 minute drive of your choice (ie around the block) with a female BMW staff member (as opposed to a sales consultant)...reasoning behind that is the sales consultants are most effective remaining on the show room floor. Anyway:
335i - fast like the M3, but smooth and refined like the 645ci. not overly noisy with the 18" run flats in my opinion. sports suspension interesting - almost launched the car off the road along a slight bit of uneven bitumen at ~ 80km/hr. corners well. paddle shift a bit confusing, pulled up on the shifter in "D" mode around 60km/hr (not sure what gear i was in to start with) and it went into M5 (or M6) ... but the paddle shifts are fun none the less. gear changes are very quick and smooth...similar in feeling to the DSG volkswagen type auto-gearbox. iDrive - good once you get used to it. 325i - not as powerful of course as the 335i, feels faster as a passenger in the 325i compared to being the driver. i guess this is because when you are controlling the throttle as the driver and put your foot down you do notice the reduced feeling of acceleration compared to the 335i whereas as the passenger, not knowing how the driver is controlling the throttle, still gives you a sense of speed. Pricing - Brisbane BMW at least won't discount on price. Delivery - Said if I ordered now not to expect delivery until February. |
