not much of a downgrade. I think the 135i is sick.

Shiv...your going in the right direction for sure with this!! I am on stage 1, UT 75% and ign cor 80%, but will try 75% tomorrow to see if there is a differencde, using 93octane....The power is amazingly fluid and the AT shifts are quicker and crisp, it feels almost like the "shift kit" that I had in my 67 Camaro, in which the tires chirped each time the tranny changed gears!! Boost seemed to maintain or be close to the point of shifting from one gear to the next and it seems to scream close to redline...I am pre 29.xx, so I already had little to almost no lag to begin with using the lagfix1, but Shiv you were right about this new lagfix2 with my pre-29.XX program....The throttle seems to be effortless from the time you stomp on it, till the next gear....I didn't think that this new lagfix2 was going to make any difference or would be felt, but was I wrong!! So far I have not experienced any hiccups at all....The new map button is awesome especially now that valet can be access via a press of a button while the car is running, rather than turning off the car like before and starting it again for those of us who have valet turn on...Hoping your Meth Kit comes out sometime during Christmas. Great work...
Will do some more testing tomorrow, can't wait take the beast out...

Can't wait to upload the new firm and software, but need to get my accident repairs squared before I do anything... I posted another thread in regards to that, so if you want to know the situation look at that thread. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll try these out tommorrow, depending on the outcome.

What can I say.....WOW.

I only got about a half dozen pulls in, but it's exactly as you described it would be.

Faster boost ramp up and continous level of pull into the upper rpms and faster shifts on 6AT with no boost loss recovery in between gears.

And is it my imagination, or did that engine note just get a little throatier?

I noticed a definite increase in power around 4500 rpms whereas the previous maps I was using (5-29) started to get flat around 5500.

I always loved the bottom end of the Procede....which is why I switched over from JB. Now the top end delivers too.

I couldn't be much happier with this tune and I am only a stage 1.

I ran 75% UT because I have the VK intercooler and use 94 octane with DCI's. Stock exhaust and downpipes.

I used 100% ignition correction on map 1 and then tried 75% correction on map 2, but the car felt less lively, so I stayed with map 1.

When I get a chance I will datalog timing and see what's going on with 75% correction.....perhaps a bit too much advance for a stage 1?

Otherwise No issues to report at all on my first drive. The additional power at 4500 rpm upward is sooooooooo nice. The car is really linear in terms of power delivery and retention of thrust.

Excellent job!. I really wasn't expecting this much of a noticeable difference. My compliments to the chef.

I'm a bit amazed at the number of our forum 335i enthusiasts that drive AT cars instead of 6MT. The more I look at members' sigs the more I see it. I guess in general the AT do seem to be a bit quicker. Even CarandDriver had gotten a 0.1 sec faster than a 6MT.

SHIV, what percentage of ur customers are AT vs. 6MT? just curious.

Very nice.

I really like the map switching. I was going between valet and Map 1 just to feel the difference.

Question: How is the AT tranny affected by the new maps in terms of mechanical stress?

Garage List
2008 E90 335i  [0.00]
Will this work for Rev II if you do not have the CANBUS wire installed? Obviously the map switching will not work, but is the performance everyone is raving about dependent on having the CANBUS integration enabled?

Procede on Track

Anybody tracking (not 1/4 mile) his Rev II proceded car can chime in on track performance. Would like to know if this tune is super smooth (no boost surges) on track?

Another tune (no naming, cos don't want to start another war) I know of behaves dangerously on track! Please leave it at that.

Thanks!

Need to clarify something, for Manual Transmission.

I meant no boost surges/oscillations while rounding a bend !

kinda like when I do auto-x, I usually just put the car in 2nd and leave it there. No reason to shift, no reason to even use 1st really you can start in 2nd if you want. I hate when I drive an AT (like my work truck) and I have to wait for the transmission to figure out what it feels like doing if I floor it, or let off the gas, or whatever. I just get annoyed when AT's constantly keep shifting back and forth every time I go more/less on the gas pedal. Plus with a car like the 335i and all of it's available torque, do you really need to downshift every time you floor it... because I am sure if the car can squeeze out a quick downshift to catch that last 1500 RPM's then upshift again then IT WILL. I see this as a problem because above 6k RPM's you really don't have great power. I would rather stay 1 gear higher and use the torque range without shifting.

This isn't applicable when drag racing. You floor the AT, if only has to shift for you to the next gear, and you are done. Downshifting and gas pedal modulation are where the AT gets on my nerves. Of course I would rather lose a drag race in my MT because I enjoy the driving aspect of the race.

Tried out the new maps today on my morning commute. I was very impressed with the lack of power drop off at the shift point. I have been running MT maps because I hated that power loss, but this new map took care of it Car feels much more like a NA turbo car now with such immediate power. I dropped the car into DS manual mode trying to illicit some negative responses from the car, but all I got was middle finger salutes from my fellow commutters
The new map does really feel good. I will get some logs when i get a chance to see how timing is doing as I set mine up as stage 1 75%UT and whatever the default ignition correction was.
