335xi with sport pkg- 17s or 18s?

I ordered a 335xi with the sports package and 17s with all seasons, but now I'm wondering if I should ordered the 18's with performance tires.
I live in MA, so I would def need to buy winter tires if I went with the 18s.

What are others' thoughts about the stock 17s vs. 18s? Is it worth the trouble/expense to have the 18s?

Of course. Thats what the oil cooler is for. tracking. Unless your meant NOT tracking in which case it still keeps things cooler. Buy some all seasons or a winter set. And I dont know of any trouble with 18s besides the need for winters which will be more money. If money is an issue then stick with 17s.

oops, yeah, I meant NOT planning on tracking...
but if the performance rubber makes for a more fun drive for more than half the year, maybe I should change my order

The style 287 wheels (which are the ones you're talking about) look really nice, especially with a drop. Just order them, put all season tires on them when the car comes and sell the summers.

an oil cooler will only help your turbo's. in the end snow tires are cheaper then oil coolers and are much better than all seasons. So get the 18's (with oil cooler) and a set of snows. It's a win win.

crap so if my 07 came with the 17's it def doesn't have an oil cooler?

cause i've been hearing a loud buzzing noise right behind the front passanger side wheel after shutting the car off.

posted about it and was told that was the oil cooler acting like a built in turbo timer.

so do i have one or not

I would go with the 18" package. I went with the 17" package and was really kicking myself after. Keep the 18's for summer and get a 17" wheel and tire combo through tirerack.

I ordered my 335xi with the sport package and the 18" wheels so I could get the oil cooler. I use the stockers for my winter tires and I bought a nice pair of wheels and tires for summer.

Def get the 18's.....it looks so much better than the 17's but the 18's comes with the sport tires and the 17's comes with all seasons. IMO and like most have posted; get the 18's for the summer and get a set of 17's with winter tires for the winters.

Good choice. Looks like yours will be the exact same as mine! Another thing I would think about is the Alarm, since they are not pre wired for it anymore.
