Toolkit

Finally got my car last week and slowly getting acquainted with the car. I've finally found the toolkit but it appears that it is missing two pieces (the first two slots on the left appear blank). They look like slots for a spanner and allan key.

Does anyone share this problem? Or am I just missing them?

Many thanks

Correct - BMW have skimped a bit on the LCI. They don't include the allen key for sunroof closure in case you loose power and a small open end spanner. Not a big deal but it does look like its not complete.

The same items were missing in my 335i coupe. On querying the dealer he assured me that the items are not required but to be honest I can't recall what they were for. He checked all other 3 series in the dealership and all had those 2 items missing.

That's BS.

Tell the dealer that the 10mm spanner is needed to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery when you install your tune as otherwise you'd have fault codes .

You'd think they would create a new plastic tray to suit the updated contents of the toolkit.

^^ I agree !! I questioned the dealer as well and we had a check of other cars on the floor and they were all the same. Funny thing is that the picture of the tool kit in the owners manual shows all the tools and even mentioned the use of the sunroof allen key.

This reminds me how a big airline company cut the olives in their in-flight lunches from 6 olives to 5 and saved $40,000usd
