UK's First G Power Supercharged E92 M3

We are proud to announce that we have completed the UK's first Supercharged E92 M3 by G Power.

The kit fitted was the top of the range SKII CS with full Akrapovic Titanium Exhaust System.

Our Initial Thoughts
The kit is extremely well designed and thought out. The quality of construction is excellent and you can see where the money has been spent.
The conversion is fully reversible at little cost to the owner which makes it even more appealing.

The SKII G Power Supercharger is a big unit running 8 PSi with a quoted 570-600 flywheel horsepower.

Our initial test drive was not what we expected!
Under normal driving the kit is super smooth and the car drives like stock. Surprisingly throttle response was a little sharper over even a remapped E92 M3.
Low speed drivability was super smooth just like stock with no bad points.
As we gently started feeding in the power we were amazed at the amount of ground was covered.
Then came some harder driving and it is here where things get really interesting.
The power is nothing short of brutal. There is no time to think about rpm's and no time to look at the speedo. All your concerned about is getting it into the next gear. Every gear feels like it has the same rate of acceleration!
1st and 2nd gear are nothing short of unusable and it just loses traction way too easily under full throttle but if your sensible and maintain grip the way it gets to 60+ is staggering.
Even in 6th gear at 3000rpm, just start applying the gas and it accelerates like a standard car would in 3rd.
The basic end result is epic and scary if you want it to be while losing nothing that the standard V8 delivers.
It feels just like it was as stock - a high revving V8 engine - but now it's just got loads more everywhere (maybe a little too much) with the engine having incredible versatility.

To give you an example of how quick it is - we have driven our own converted SL55 AMG's with 550+hp and it's far quicker. I myself regularly drive M5's and that's also not comparible. Imran has spent a decent amount of time in Ferrari 430's and Porsche's which have made 550hp on our dyno.....they don't compare to the sheer brutality of the G power SKII Supercharged M3.

The amount of work gone into the mapping is also nothing short of engineering excellence. G Power have really made the effort to make their conversion a pleasure to drive.

One of the most impressive areas is how the temperatures (oil and coolant) remain very low even under constant hard use. Once you see the size of the intercooler and understand the type of supercharger used it's not surprising.

We are now awaiting delivery of their sealed carbon intake system with dual air filters and what looks to be an excellent cold air feed. It's going to get even better.

At this power level we feel that this might well be a little too much for some and the SKI kit with a decent cat/exhaust upgrade would easily crack 520hp with a similar delivery and be more than enough for most. The SKI conversion is already known to be quicker than most supercars.

Highly impressive stuff and we look forward to doing more. More importantly we look forward to the expressions of the owners on their initial test drive

Dyno charts and videos coming.............

Thanks!

Didn't really get a chance to take pics of step by step install. We were too eager to get it finished and sample it this time round.
It's not really something you'd want to tackle unless you have alot of mechanical experience.
The hardest part is making adjustments to the front panel.
Installation takes alot of attention to detail.

We'll take lots of pictures when we do the next one.

I wonder why G-Power chose to only use 1 supercharger for the M3? They use 2 on the M5 conversion

Steveo: It's just like the standard car with sport + mode, just more responsive.

neo871: Your right, that car is G Power's own car, we have our pictures coming soon.

335d - we do indeed have good jobs. Only problem is that nothing else this side of 100,000 feels fast anymore!

Thanks to everyone else for the comments.
