325i to 330 Performance - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Does anyone know of a company or anyone who has been able to get the ECU in the 325i remapped to get the 330i performance I heard that it should be pretty easy to do because they share the same engine and it would be awesome to have a 325i with 255 HP and for 7,000 less than a 330 so if anyone knows of something please let me know!!

...Remapping the ECU on a 325 won't take the place of the 3 stage intake that is present on the 330 and not on the 325...but there are always other ways to make up the diffrence

You might be able to do some remapping to increase power, probably at the cost of driveability of the engine, but you won't reach the performance of the 330i without physical changes to the engine.

yes this topic has been hashed out many times and as one other member said it best...do you really think the guys at BMW will make it that easy for 325 owners (incl myself) to upgrade to 330 performance......if you want the 330 power then just pay for it...why risk warranty issues on saving about $5000 over the course of owning the car....otherwise welcome to the forum...

Only time will tell how much difference a remapped ECU will accomplish. Keep track of this thread - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1679

JamesC indicated that there might be some gains to be had from software remap. Cross your fingers.

Hey thanks everyone for your help and yes I will begin searching and looking for things and I literally just picked up my 325i and I am loving it what a great car and I cant wait for the break in period to be over.
