2010 BMW build site up

Hi guys,

Just got an email saying their 2010 fleet is up and is able to be built through the website. The only thing I notice is that HD Radio is not an option anymore since it comes standard with all 3's.

Go take a look! http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/content/byo/default.aspx

I really don't like the mirrors, why would they change it for the coupe??

New regulation standards in Europe. The E90 LCI got larger mirrors too, though they work well with the car. Just look too big on the E92 though, judging by spy shots so far.

Key fob looks cool. Either that's just some design they used for the email, or it's new for 2010. It's different than the 7 series key.

The optional 17" V Spoke 285 is no longer available on the E90/E91 328i models. Why would BMW make not available? I thought it was a pretty good option for those who wanted 17" wheels but did not want Sports Package.

Hm. Either something's screwy with the configurator or they made paddles optional again for the 335d with sport package. And hey, my car comes out $200 cheaper now that it did when I was configuring it before! I'm gonna have to have a chat with my dealer.

Yea, the sunroof is not standard for 328's now. I guess for some people its good cause it saves a bit of weight. But apparently, they have been doing it for a while in europe.

Nope. They are both right.

BMW removed the sunroof from the 328i to lower the entry-level car price by $750.

The value package is a great deal for the 2010 328i model. Again, they are trying to sell as many 2010 entry-level models.

What bugs me, is that there is no incentive to buy the 335i at all with the prices they have.

To be honest, I only used the sunroof for a few months after buying the car. I haven't used it for 4-5 months and it was summer. Really, I could very well live without a sunroof, I don't need it !

And don't get me started on iDrive. The only thing it is useful for me is that it looks good and I can see the whole list of radio stations from one glance so I can choose one. That's it, I don't use it for anything else.

Actually, I think it looks terrible.

The non-iDrive dashboard has clean, simple lines, and the controls are arranged logically.

The iDrive-equipped dash adds a deformed-looking "bubble" on top for the screen, and reverses the position of the radio and climate controls, resulting in lots of blank space on the console and generally leaving the whole thing looking awkward.

Worst of all, you lose that handy little cubbyhole in the console for storing change or lip gloss.

OK, I'm kidding about that last part...that little cubbyhole is pretty much useless. Although considering the limited amount of cabin storage space in the E90, any little bit helps.
