Dension Gateway 500 trouble after service
I have a Dension GW500 fitted to my 2006 E90 with Prof I-Drive.
I fitted it using the CDC prep wires and had it coded to the car by a specialist using Autologic. I needed to get the car serviced and followed the instructions to switch the GW to "hide" it so any diagnostics did not find it. Once switched I could not be found through I-Drive as I expected. I got the car back and switched the GW back to "show" mode. Now when I select the GW through I-Drive it shows no Ipod, No USB and No something else (I forget) This is despite having a fully charged Ipod connected. Any ideas???? I really don't want to have to pay to have the GW coded to the car again. All help appreciated! |

They overwrote you old sofware returned to stock.

Probably is not coded for cdc and maybe kmp with ipod option anymore. What service was done and why. Who did it. If its out of warranty why would you go to a dealer or did you. |

Standard 3rd oil service carried out frustratingly by the same Indy who coded it originally. So despite the GW being switched to service mode it's still been lost? Why would it show on the I-Drive if its been lost? |

There is no CDC enabled in your car anymore. You need to code the CDC enable back.

Seems odd that that would happen on just an oil reset. You can do that on the stalk without any special equipment. Also, from what I understand of Autologic, all coding/programming is done by sending a request off site to Autologic Inc. for analysis and they send a profile back that the service center applies via the Autologic machine.

Why would they touch the software for a oil change?

I wouldn't think it would be necessary to change the thing to invisible mode for an Indy that knows you had it installed. You should have some leverage to get it fixed for free it that's the case anyway. If they put a computer on it you better ask what happened. Last edited by ctuna; 01-08-2013 at 11:52 AM. |
