Dough - cheers for that. Don't want one but was interested anyway.

My R32 had Haldex - it actually worked very well but you could feel the torque transfer pretty easily.

The 4WD system on the Evo FQ360 I drove was astonishingly effective.

Nearly bought a manual 335i m sport touring 2 months ago. Was one of the pre-reg cars that my local dealer had in. Stunning car with big spec and £9k off list.

Drove a friends 335i manual last year and its very quick indeed. Nothing really in it on the road between that and my M3.

IMO the Terra is more earthy and the Red/Brown that I have is more 'terracotta'.

I actually prefer the terra in real life, but ordered red-brown with no samples, so was a bit disappointed.

Grown on me now....

You and I will be in a very small minority..

335i tourer = very rare

335i tourer manual = I think we will have the only 2 in the country!!
If thats the case then my mate has the other one! He got it a week after my car was delivered - however it is in Germany at the moment so not technically in the country!

There are plenty of 335i manual tourers in the UK. Certainly more than 2. I know of at least 6 personally!

I meant it a bit tongue in cheek.... i'm sure there's a dozens of them tucked away...just none for sale and I've never seen one with my own eyes.

Don't know about 'plenty' though, there are 'plenty' of ford mondeos about, not 'plenty' of 335i tourer manuals!

i hope james can get a import figure....

Car went into production on the 03.11.09

Anyone know what is the average production time usually?

Cheers!

That's quick.. I ordered on 3.10.09, went into production 3.11.09. Looking on the US threads it looks like their cars are fabricated in a matter of days..?

Great news - but check for this:

I didn't notice them at my peril.....

On the circled areas (left and right sides) I had dried droplets (with air bubbles inside) of excess clear laquer dangling off the low point of the bonnet edge.

After a few days, over bumps etc, the slight panel movement means they touched the bumper top and cracked the droplets leaving sharp edges, these cracks then are visible and also the sharp edges damage further the bumper top, now worn through to black plastic.

If yours has them, get them carefully sanded and polished off before they cause more damage...

Those drops or excessive build up on lacquer/pain around the edges are a trait of post manufacture painting. A friend of mine who owns a bodyshop sayís itís caused by the heat in the spraybooths when the paint is applied to thick, if the temperature is too high then the paint thins out and gathers at the edges, if that makes sense. I guess the temperature varies depending on paint manufacture/type etc .

Cheers,

One thing I have noticed is that the front lights have some condensation around the sides, dealer said it might go, if not bring it back under warranty..

Any one experienced this?

Not quite Steve, he's got a manual 'box, so he has even better taste

Out of interest James, what exactly is a detailers 'winter prep'?

Can this be done out doors? or do you need a posh cosy garage?

It will basically seal the paintwork for all the nasty stuff on the winter roads, with a layer of sealant & wax

Here is what my guy will be doing;

-Pre rinse wash and dry
-Paintwork Cleansed
-Paintwork Sealed
-Paintwork Waxed using swissvax best of show
-Tyres trim wheels etc all detailed

The sealant/wax will repel the dirt better, so should need cleaning less often but then once its cleaned normally the paintwork will look glossy & should last well into spring. The car definitely needs a good wax.

You can get away with doing this outdoors, no problems if the weather is good!
