Just so you guys know, Kaz stated in an interview that a future update will change all standard cars into Premium cars with super high level of detail, interior camera view, etc. The article is on IGN,

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/114/1140294p1.html

And on GT Planet:

good to hear, but further emphasizing the question of WTF were they doing for the past X years?

Between this and the B spec revisions, I'm definitely curious how exactly this development process got so botched.

Sweet! I'm also pretty pumped about how Kaz might give us all some free cars for xmas.

By the way, I've been spending time with the rally stuff and that Sebastian Loeb challenge is a pain in the ass. On the Swiss and snow tracks the closest I've gotten to the target time is literally a couple tenths off. On a 4 minute lap that's excruciating. I wanna drive that shitty little Citroen off a cliff.

I dont think GT has sent anything yet. I think the competition takes place in January. Right now is just the registration.

EDIT: I was wrong, just saw this thread on the PS3 forums, Time trials start tonight at midnight EST.

http://boardsus.playstation.com/t5/G.../td-p/46581715

EDIT 2: Shit, well after actually reading the thread, lol, it should already be going on, but Im not seeing it, and neither are anyone in that thread. I'll be up all day (Im 6 hours ahead of EST), so I'll post up in here whenever I see something.

You gotta do the 1.05 update to participate in GT Academy. It's in the seasonal events

haven't seen this mentioned anywhere....even in dedicated gt5 forums, but for all those interested, the b spec drivers are a LOT better at listening to your commands now. They're a little too hot headed across the board now (even for 'cool' personalities), but they'll finally actually LISTEN to your damn commands

Pshh, try telling that to my dipshit driver J.May, every time I told him to overtake he went backwards! That Daytona Truck race was painful, I had to create a new driver. F.Ferrari did the job on the first try.

I guess I shouldnt rely on Capt Slow to be my racing driver. Or maybe just give him a break, he racked up 35 wins today

My Finnish driver is a bit crap. All he did with my 900KG 700HP AC Cobra was spin. I think we should have had the option to enable Traction Control, ASM and Skid Recovery for them.

After about 30 laps I managed to get 42nd place in the GT Academy time trial. I can't seem to shave any more time off since they made traction control mandatory. So frustrating!

James May? Captain Slow???

My Bspec driver is not that good on overtake. When I told him to push...he'll just spun out the maserati GT....given its the fastest car on the grid...

I need 3-4 attempts for him to win the race.

Almost finished my A-spec license, completed a few races and tried the course editor. It's a good game so far; not what everyone's hyped it up to be, that's for sure, but I like its approach regarding handling physics slightly better than Forza's. It's a touch more realistic. I've already encountered a few frustrating problems (not related to difficulty, more like confusing user-related issues).

I plan on playing it for another week pretty intensely before I post up the most objective comparison between GT5 and F3 as I possibly can.

^^ B-spec prize cars are arguably better than A-spec. WTF gives, this is a driving game! Reward us better for driving, not watching a computer do it!

These Seasonal Events have another advantage, well depending how you look at it, it could be a downfall too. But regardless, they are getting me to buy cars I probably wouldnt have bought otherwise. Sure, Im spending money on a car to compete in 1 race, but thats pretty much what this whole game is about.

It is making my garage grow faster than usual, and the prize money usually offsets the purchasing costs.

Not to mention the XP you get is worth an endurance race or two in some cases...

the first one was easy bit painful...driving Mitsubishi electric car is painfully slow...but easy win...all you have to do is to swap to Racing Hard tires and you'll own the field....or Sports tires if you want to save some $ and drive harder...
