Sorry, not my car. A german e90 owner did this. You'd have to replace the rest of the lights in the car with blue bulbs in order to have all the lights in the car match.

I think the blue lights are nice- But IMO, a bmw isnt a true bmw w/out the orange lights. I can remember being a kid riding in my mom's 1988 325 and looking at the orange lights in her car. Like the previous poster said- its just a tradition.

You can dim the light in my z3 by twisting the knob. I am assuming BMW didn't change this in the e90. It was daytime at my 330 test so I didnt test the dimmers.

Perhaps you could have blue liughts but dim them so they don't leave shapes on your eyes after looking away. Reds have been used for this specific reason. I like the blue alot though.

I don't like it either... It's nothing like the amber...sitting next to a bmw at the robot and you can just see the amber glow in the car...you know...that's a BMW ...you can't beat tradition!

Hope they didnt screw up that cluster; note how the cruise control and tach redline "gauges" arent lined up.

I applaud the work (there are no bulbs, its resoldering surfacemount LEDs which are a PITA to work with) but I think the end result is bleh.

Why not?

Look, I'm not sure you guys are aware of the, now age old, argument of BMWs having to stay stock to be either "true to its roots" or "personalized".

Why do people constantly argue about this?

I've heard every argument about BMWs staying or leaving OEM stuff for like 10 years now.

Why change the rims? Why add the AC, hartge, Hamann, etc, bumper? It ruins the clean stock look, blah blah blah.

Fine, keep it red, I will too because my eyes are sensitive in the dark to everything but red. But to say that making the gauges blue on a car that has a blue and white propeller on it because of "tradition" sounds silly.

Cool with me. Keep yours red. When you see other red gauges be at calm and peace that things are right in the world. I Just don't understand why blue couldn't be seen as a nice customization. Hamann and AC has been making custom colored gauges for a long time now. I've seen color themed interiors that just rock when the gauges match.

Sorry to make such a point but I don't think blue gauges make or break a BMW. I understand the tradition but if tradition is the key here then why is BMW making stuff like active steering when it was cherished the world over for having the greatest feedback steering in the world before active steering?

To each thier own. I'd love to see these gauges in a blue or white interior.
