Question On Optioning C63 AMG... - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

the option specs of the c63 amg are easy premium package 1 & 2, multimedia (naigation, etc) but the one that confuses me is the AMG performance package which includes:

AMG limited slip diff
AMG Compound breaking system
AMG Track calibrated suspension system
AMG leather/alcantara steering wheel
Top speed raised 174mph.

does the c63 not have a diff standard? and the compound breaking system is carbon ceramic 6 piston front and 4 piston rear? the track calibrated suspsension is just suspension or do i get buttons like the m3 does to change ride settings?

Correct. Limited slip diff is not standard on a C63.

ouch that blows the package is $4k (3,995 exact). it is like what $1,500 on for us to install lsd on our cars? so that leaves about $2,500 for the other stuff... worth it?

is the brakes carbon ceramic like porsche and the zr1 use?

I will never understand why benz didn't put an LSD standard in a car pushing over 450hp.

On top of that, it should be a stand alone option so you don't have to buy all the junk in that package. Do you really need carbon ceramic brakes on a daily driver?

Do you really need a 6.2l V8 in a DD?

But yeah, should have an LSD standard, though I've heard the electronic version on the base model is more then adequate for street driving.

I don't think that's a fair thing to ask, especially on a car forum for guys who love their cars.

1. No diff standard on regular AMG cars
2. the compound system is not carbon ceramic, it's just multi-piece rotor up front. I believe for the C63, it's 8-pot and 4-pot front to back (those are heavy though because they are cast steel)
3. Yes, there's a sport suspension button that you can use to adjust the dampers on the new C-class

Don't forget to get Keyless Go in the new '10 models. '09 or before don't have Keyless Go (Comfort Access for BMW). Also, the C-class doesn't come with power folding mirrors. They need to be retrofitted. C63 does not have the option of having a panorama sunroof as well.

You can get a limited slip diff as a stand alone option, at least you could for the 09s. I found one optioned that way and was ready to buy and someone beat me to it.

Just buy the LSD alone. AMG P30 package seems like a good deal though. Better brakes, suspension(it rides a bit hard but I heard it's great on the track) and a cooler looking alcantara gripped steering wheel. I dunno, I say LSD and keep the price low.

I know the AMG sport pack is already available. It would be awesome if they also make the "Performance Package Plus" available, although I guess most people would not opt for that and instead get a ECU flash done for cheaper and get even more power!!
