This makes me a very happy dude.

Shame about the quads, as "cliche" as that is I was really hoping for it.

Probably next week. We've been preparing for the 24Hrs of Lemons race this weekend www.24hoursoflemons.com. All us Vishnu nerds are going to be driving a $250 '91 CRX. So once we get this Batter of the Beaters race out of the way, we'll get back to tweaking the 335i. We do, however have some on-the-road video footage of the car doing acceleration runs (0-100mph, 50-100 top gear, etc,.). We'll try to post that today.

Cheers,
shiv

Me too Kevin.
BUT... Since it'd require a custom cutout on the bumper (pretty easy)
then adding a Y with twin tips would be easy too.
- I'll show you how bro

Well, the odds are good that I (and probably you) will go with an aftermarket bumper, or at least rear skirt, so ya - it'd just be adding the tips. I will let you take care of that part!

How much power will the car have with the Xede and stock exhaust? Thanks!

SHIV SAID

"We're making ~380bhp and 400lb-ft of torque with ours, running it hard every day, on and off the dyno and the only problem we've had was the passenger side seatbelt helper popping off once. "

Sorry for the lack of updates in the last few days. We just finished running the 24 Hours of LeMons (www.24hoursoflemons.com). We came in 6th place! And that was after losing 2 hours for repair after me getting stuffed head-on into a concrete wall (still sore! ) No, not in the BMW. We raced a '88 Honda CRX. The Bimmer did make an awesome support/hospitality vehicle though. After racing piles all weekend, it sure was nice to drive home in it.

Back to business.... I just got a PM from a member informing me that there was a software revision to the DME which eliminated the cold start lumpiness that some people (including myself have noticed). I'm going to drop by the dealership tomorrow and see what is going on. If my car needs to get updated, I'll have to hit the dyno again to see what, if any, differences it makes to max power and, if necessary, retune accordingly.

Cheers,
shiv

Perfect opportunity too see if the dealer has any fits about the mods you have done (if they notice)?

I got an idea from APR's tuning (Audi tuner for those who dont know). I dont know if this would be possible with the xede, but I was wondering if you would be able to design a "valet" map which the driver could set when handing the keys to a valet parker. I hate those guys. Just thinking here, but a 3k redline would be nice, and maybe like 1psi or something rediculously low.
I have no idea if you are capable of doing this with the xede, but I feel positive that I am not the only one who would like this option.
TIA

I think shiv may have mentioned it, and if he didnt, then i know this isnt hard to do...just depends on the number of maps the users can/want to have on their vehicle.

I'm sure it could be possible, but it would completely depend on how you run a different map. If you have to hook it up to laptop, I dont think anyone is going to do that before handing the keys off...

Well Shiv mentioned the ability to switch between the stock map and the modified map. I would be willing to substitute the stock for a valet mode, but all three would be nice.

Shiv,

I may be wrong (I've been reading so much info about the Bimmers, it's all starting to run together), but I think I read that BMW can actually receive the stats of your car on-the-fly through the BMW Assist. Is there any way they could detect the mod through info they receive through the BMW Assist?

Maybe a stupid question, but...

Regardless, thanks for the consistant updates on all the hard work you guys are putting in.

BTW, it's about time to post some 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, isn't it?
