I test drove a 2002 M3 and the 2008 335D which I've driven felt much faster. Much more torque. After a remap I don't think much would beat the 335D. Especially not on normal roads. Track is different but on normal roads a 335D will keep up with any of them. Just wish this car wasn't so expensive where I live.
Actually my 2007 remapped 320D keeps up with a lot of cars and I kind of preferred it to the 2002 M3 that I drove. But I am a torque junky not a bhp junky. Acceleration from 40km/h to 100km/h is very very good in my 320D and stellar in the 335D.
What BMW did to the E90 diesel engines is amazing. So amazing that I would rather have my 320D than a pre E90 330D.
Anyway I can believe the Porsche story - obviously on a track it would be different.

FFS, I've owned a re-mapped 335d and owned a Porsche Turbo, ok the GT3 RS is not as quick as the ballistic Turbo but still bloody fast in MANY respects.

I use my arse for shitting out of not talking.

Hi mate..

Due to a shit driver in the F430.. Ive seen M6's at the pod not even get into the 13's....

Ive seen a Murci not even dip below a 13.5... you do need a good driver mate.. Not just 500HP and a human being sat behind the wheel.. You need someone with an idea on how to drive.

Probably cause you werent driving...

So are you still saying that it (335d) can keep up with one (f430) whilst on the move (not every road is a dragstrip), they have the straight line pace of the mighty M6 you champion, so you saying your car can keep up... dont think so.

If thats the case then then so can a punto...

Mate,

if the idiot does not change late enough and 1.5k too early and is not quite 100% full throttle it aint going to be as quick as it should be... (blame the chump driver not the car)

Now two identical drivers... Side by side rolling 60mph... YES of course the f430 would walk away..

Thats obvious... your being pedantic.. Im not lying.. I was with one. He was a doofus.

Regarding 4'S etc there not as quick.

But in your words 'he was nailing it' !! If someone was nailing it as you say dont think they would be changing up early.

My old neighbour has one and a 911 turbo, he drives them hard so i know just how fast they are, you would hang with it for a couple of secs maybe LOL.

Who mentioned 4s
