All I heard was 'predictable'. They should measure your heart rate on a course to see which one gives the most excitement instead.

Ive driven a S4. Thought it felt a little ''wooden'' A little numB.

They launched the Audi, then didnt launch the 335i just ''pulled away'', no wonder the S4 won the drag race...

I personally would still go for the 335i. Looks nicer also.

And that's the very latest 2010 S4, they need to line it up to the next incarnation of 335i to be fair.

I have owned both, as I have said many times, I hate the S4.

Though the RS4 isfuckingmentalawesomestupidlegendary and also out of production. And a totally different price point... etc.

Hold on, since when did the 335i roll with Audi's flagship car?

If its in the same review, then its already a winner!

Controversial perhaps, but.....

I think the new S4 will be a cracking car with that supercharged engine. I found the previous S4 V8 a little asthmatic, although strangely it wasn't as noticeable in the A5 iteration.

I think that for normal everyday driving in the UK the Audi might edge the 335i purely because of the Quattro system and the overall build quality and solidity, although if one is at all concerned with an involving driving experience, and/or likes to push the boundaries of handling on a track, then the 335i will become the car of choice again. I also prefer the Audi interior and the seats are more comfortable than the 3er... so why didn't I go for the Audi I hear you ask? Well, at that time I didn't like the S4 engine (V8) and ultimately I want RWD handling...

The 135i would be quicker than the S4.

Lol...........another one for me to test drive then having never driven a S4 so obviously can't comment and certainly can't comment on this new one (as Tony quite rightly pointed out) until I've driven one!

Don't like that yellow though - yuk and come on BMW update the interiors!

Competition is great for the consumer imo, especially if you're not brand loyal like moi........they'd have to pay me ffs!!

If I was rich and money didn't matter, I would go with the Audi. But the 335i has better fuel economy, cheaper tax and rear wheel drive.

By the way, if anyone is reading this and feels for the poor person (ME), your more than welcome to buy me a New Audi S4.

They're both band K actually based on the websites. BMW = 218 CO2 & Audi = 225 CO2 but interestingly in the 7 speed s tronic box it drops to 219, still same band though.

Fuel consumption is marginally better in the s tronic at 30.1 combined as opposed to the manual box 29.1 mpg. The BMW is 31.0 mpg combined, so not alot in it really - no surprises there.

Anyhow, you don't fancy a two careful owners, never thrashed (honest) S5 in the future.........know where there might be one.

Judging by your avatar, are you sure you still want RWD.............only kidding!!!

plus one...was actually considering an S5 ...but its like £12k more than a 335i...

Not too sure about how reliable is the Audi engine...

but definitely with the 335i , you get the bhp and the nice RWD...and its a wonderful engine (when it works) with power along the rev range and good torque....

Kevin read what I posted in your ranting thread............fine you can think its bollocks but it's my look on the situation.

Touch wood, I've absolutely no reliability issues with my engine and it's now done nearly 34k. I keep checking the oil but it 'aint using any so far.

The S5 is up on bhp as it's 354 as opposed to 306 bhp. The 335i produces 400 NM's @ 1,300. The S5 produces 440 NM's but higher up the rev range at 3,500. 85% of the S5's torque is available at 2k but that is still down on the 335i which of course gains the torque from the turbos.

Not sure you'd be too happy with the mpg either, it's a V8 and a heavier car. I'm getting 19.3 commuting to work............not bothered mind you on my 10k p.a.

yeah, if the engine is sorted and I don't have anymore problems ...then yeah I'll keep it...

But I just can't put up with her power loss attitude...

MPG...well....can't be worse than 16 mpg..... town/ traffic driving....I'm used to it now...
