Especially so when driving through any Asian areas. When I drive home today, I predict I will see 2 accidents and 5 near accidents, and encounter at least 1 near accident myself.

rain ftw. as for the idiot drivers, they need to learn to turn their lights on when on the freeway. some of these cars are impossible to spot in the mist.

Maybe I am bitter about it cause it made me late but still!!!

Other than that I love the rain and snow! Wish it would snow close to where I live.
I swear the worst drivers for rain are San Diegans. During the 5 years I was stationed there, I always saw the worst driving during the rainy season. People slowing down to 40mph on the 15 and 163 because of rain is just ridiculous.

You must not have visited any Asian countries. They drive like there aren't any traffic laws yet they still manage not to crash and it's just unbelievable how well some people drive over there to cut a few seconds off their commute. Now, Americans in general can't drive...I'll even say they are the worst drivers. Eating, make-up, cellphone, shaving, texting, reading..Americans do it all. Worst part is they drive big cars which cause more damage for the person on the receiving end.

At first, I thought the driving was somewhat chaotic over in Japan, China, Singapore, and Taiwan, but it works! Everyone is on the same page and it just flows, and best of all, there aren't enraged idiots who cut you off or don't let you merge. I think one of my favorite things was the common courtesy toward pedestrians as well. Walking across streets in downtown sac, I almost get hit on a daily basis because of people not paying attention. Over in Japan, everytime we walked up to a crosswalk that was not at a light, drivers would recognize this and stop, amazing. The only country over that way that I won't give any credit to is Bangladesh; I was scared for my life being driven around in that country. haha.

bangladesh is right next to india. Buses have no set stops, they would literally stop in the middle of the freeway for people to get off. People riding on top of vehicles, to include trains, all the cars have bumpers for their bumpers. People would line up 8 or 9 cars across on a 4 lane wide road. If you're not honking 99.999% of the time you're driving, you're probably not from the area. lol

the best part is, in most Asian countries, they still eat, putting make up, talk on cellphones, and text while driving and STILL manage not to crash into each other. Something must've been wrong with US domestic food coz when most asians immigrated, they all of sudden lost all that ability

It's not the water we're scared of... It's all the drivers around us who can't focus.

I'm sure there are a lot of accidents. But I'll agree, Asia is crazy. I hear from Family in Shanghai that traffic regulations are really just "suggestions" and are taken as such. If you miss your exit on the freeway (no shoulders from what I hear), you just back up and exit while people behind you deal with it.

Didn't you hear? It's a gene that's responsible for bad driving. :P
